Our heavenly Father is just that—heavenly. The world and the religious spirit often paint our heavenly Father as a mean man with a beard ready to clobber us with a hammer when we stumble. But Father is love. Meditate on these verses to renew your mind about your heavenly Father.

1 John 3:1

Consider how much love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

John 1:12

Yet to all who received Him, He gave the power to become sons of God, to those who believed in His name…

Romans 8:16-17

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirits that we are the children of God, and if children, then heirs: heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified with Him.

Ephesians 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

Galatians 4:6

And because you are sons, God has sent forth into our hearts the Spirit of His Son, crying, “Abba, Father!”

Isaiah 64:8

But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; and we all are the work of Your hand.

John 14:9-11

Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you such a long time, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father. So how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own authority. But the Father who lives in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me. Or else believe Me on account of the works themselves.

1 Peter 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…

James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no change or shadow of turning.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
