Equip yourself for victory and move forward!

By Kris Vallotton

Are you stuck in a cycle you can’t get out of? Maybe it’s a cycle of insecurity, lack, or perhaps unhealthy relationships? Last week we talked about 5 ways to break negative cycles, and today I want to give you some more tools for taking ownership of life and moving into the abundance of joy, peace and purpose God has for you!

What’s In Your Toolbelt?

Here are some tools that I use all the time for transforming my mind, and therefore creating an ecosystem of life and nobility around me. I hope they’ll do the same for you:

1. Take Care What You’re Listening To

In Mark 4:24 it says, ”…Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure, it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides.” If you look at porn on the Internet, the Internet will determine, through algorithms (automated reasoning), what you watch, and will send you more porn via ads. The same is true in the spirit realm! In fact, there are algorithms in the spirit! The things you like listening to, whether it’s hopelessness, self-doubt, unworthiness, negativity etc., invite more of that same thing in the spirit. This is also true in a positive sense!

So what does this practically mean for you? If there are things in your life, whether it’s relationships, TV shows, social media accounts you’re following, articles you’re reading online etc. that are bringing you down, then maybe it’s time to reevaluate. Sometimes we have to change our company to change our life (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Find scriptures that bring you life in this season and decide to put your mind on “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” (Philippians 4:8)

2. Strengthen Your Ecosystems

Joshua 1:6-8 says, “ Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.”

This ecosystem starts with a commandment to be strong and courageous, even in the midst of trials and fear. It encourages us to talk about what God said, meditate on what He did, and then we will have success. Biblical meditation is not just sitting around humming. It’s proactive, deliberate, strategy—talking, singing and thinking about the acts and words of God in your life!

I’ve made this a habit in my own life. When I’m facing tough decisions or hardships, I’ll work in my shop and speak strength over myself: “God’s going to work this out, Kris. Remember what God did before… you thought it was going to go wrong but it went well. Remember that word you have.” And then I make an action plan for how to move forward in strength! This is one way to strengthen your ecosystems and create a culture of prosperity and success in your own life!

3. Create an Arsenal Of Testimonies and Prophecies

Revelation 19:10 says, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” So then, testimonies are prophecies! Whatever God did for someone else He will do for you.

We can also use prophecies as weapons of warfare. 1 Timothy 1:18 says, “This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight, keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith.”

Whenever I’m in a negative ecosystem or facing a trial, I take my situation and I sandwich it between my testimonies (what God has done for me) and my prophetic words (what God has said He will do)… then I decide how to think about my situation (what God has yet to do).

What Are You Waiting For?

If you’re about to walk away from this post and carry on with your day as usual I’d like to ask you to stop and ask yourself why. There’s no time like today to start changing your life, and nobody else is going to do it for you! I find that if I don’t write things down, ponder them, meditate on them and make a plan then life just tends to happen to me. I make an effort everyday to focus on something that is propelling me towards my destiny and today I’m challenging you to do the same. If you’re stuck in a pattern then today is your day of breakthrough, what are you going to do about it? I’d love to hear your first step in the comments below!

I pray strength over your soul, peace over your spirit and tenacity over your entire being as you move out of negativity and into kingdom prosperity today!
