God is doing things differently and we need to flow with Him.

By Karen Hardin

“I am doing a new thing. Will you not be aware of it?” That is the word for this hour and this season. It is a new way of doing business and ministry.

I saw this first hand last October when I had the opportunity to speak before the United Nations at the invitation of another country. Because I was there to speak on their behalf, they paid for my ticket and hotel and many of my expenses for the trip. To purchase the airline ticket, I used miles I had accumulated for which I was later reimbursed by the host country, so I actually came home with more cash than when I left!

After I returned, as I processed with Lord regarding this, He spoke to me, “There is an entirely different way of doing ministry than what you have always done. There is funding which you have never tapped into, but which is available. Let them pay for it. It is the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous (Proverbs 13:22) as well as the ability to recognize that there are funds available in areas we have never looked before. There is a new way of doing ministry in this season.

In the case of my trip to the United Nations, it had been a secular government that had paid for the trip. Rather than my raising funds to make the trip, something typical for a ministry trip, God was taking the lid off my thinking to a new strategy.

This past week, He has continued to expand my thinking with another governmental opportunity. I just returned from the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., where He again confirmed this strategy. This season is about a new way of thinking, a new paradigm and a new way to get things done. It is about working from the top down rather than from the bottom up. Does that make sense? It needs to.

In this new season, God is doing things differently and we need to flow with Him. We need to take the lid off and see things from His perspective, not as we have always seen them or done them. He is speaking to many right now about business ventures, ministry opportunities, and new doors He will open and wants you to walk through. Do not let funding, or the lack thereof, cause you to miss the open door of this season. We are to work from the understanding that He is the God of unlimited resources. If He gave you the idea, can He not also give you the understanding of how to get it funded? It’s about looking past what you can see right in front of you to seeing what is beyond you.

It is time we look beyond

The Lord spoke to me at the beginning of the year that what we “see” in the spiritual realm, we can possess in the natural realm. We are simply to step out to take it. So let me ask you, “What can you see? Are you looking with natural eyes, or are you looking beyond with eyes of the spirit?”

I have seen funds just waiting to be used. They are sitting in storehouses, waiting to be claimed to take up wings and be sent out for Kingdom purposes. It is the wealth of the secret places. And God is beginning to reveal the secrets of those places for those who will simply ask.

So, ASK!

This is a time of release and the wealth of the wicked coming into the hands of the just. We will watch in amazement as He gives insight and ideas on how to tap into those funds for businesses, ministry opportunities, and visions. Grants, scholarships, funding sources you never knew existed will be revealed. Seek and you will find. It is there. Watch for it. Listen. Look beyond what you can see or what you have done in the past.

Many have had dreams and visions of new opportunities that will bring in provision that will then fund Kingdom opportunities and outreaches. There are plans that need to be launched, but are waiting for funds. Businesses will rise up that can do that very thing as business owners recognize how to give to Kingdom purposes.

For those who have walked in a season of lack, let me remind you that your breakthrough is available as you give your way out of lack. You may only have two pennies, like the widow, so it’s important that we don’t eat our seed. We are to eat our bread and plant our seed. When funds come in we need to recognize which is which.

When we eat our seed, it not only doesn’t produce, but we have nothing left to plant. When we plant our bread, we remain hungry and the bread doesn’t produce because it is not seed. That means we pray into our giving. We are to tithe (10%) as well as give and this opens the floodgates when we bring ALL the tithe into the storehouse (Malachi 3:10).

So how do we know the difference between what is bread and what is seed? Do you feel you give and the floodgates have not released? I was talking with one of my clients a few weeks ago as he shared his testimony with me regarding the release of the floodgates of heaven. Although he came from poverty, born in Costa Rica to a poor family, he became a wealthy business owner in America who now sows extensively into the Kingdom work. His is an amazing story and as we sat and talked about what God has done in his life I asked him,

“So do you tithe in your business on EVERYTHING that comes in, even if it goes right out of your company into another company and you are simply the conduit?” “Karen, scripture tells us to bring ALL the tithe into the storehouse. All means all,” he responded with a smile.

As a small business owner, I have to admit I had to digest that for a while. In my business I often have funds that come into my company that are not profit and are not even to me. I am simply a conduit and write a check passing them on to another company. Was I to tithe on THAT? His words echoed through my head and heart, “All is all.” It was stretching me and caused me to look beyond.

The question we are to ask ourselves is, “Are we truly giving all? And what does that mean for each of us?” I believe it is key to this season. Right now, He is asking us to take the lid off our thinking on how we give and how we receive. Are we willing to be the ones to fund Kingdom work in a new way….and receive funds in new ways? It will require us to do both.

So, let me finish by saying again, THIS is the season for birthing of businesses and vision. Ask Him to bring the people you need to meet across your path along with the insight and wisdom of these new funding sources. Ask Him how and where you are to give and how to see the floodgates released. Recognize that the old way of doing things has changed and we need to change with it. We need to open our eyes and see all that is available when we will simply take the lid off our thinking and begin to do things a new way in this new season.
