Pursuing the will of God can mean a lot of waiting—sometimes what feels like endless waiting. I know you can relate. We’ve all been in unpleasant waiting room experiences in the natural and sometimes it’s not different waiting on the promises of God. At times, we feel weary and don’t feel like we can wait one more day for the breakthrough.

Even reading this you might feel like you can't handle another heartache, another disappointment, another day of waiting on the promises of God. But God sent me to tell you this: You are going to breakthrough. Whether it feels like it or not, while you are waiting on God you are moving towards the future and hope He has in store for you.

Understanding this truth, it’s time to come out of the place of hiding and hurting even while you are waiting. God sees the end from the beginning and He sees your weariness and wondering even now. God is using your discomfort to change you into the image of Christ.

I heard the Lord say:

“Don’t give up now. Keep on waiting for Me because I Am worth it. For I am with you in the waiting room and I am even holding your hand, even though you can’t feel Me. And I have prepared for you something that eye has not seen and ear has not heard.

“Will you wait on Me? Will you trust Me in the crushing, in the waiting, in the becoming, and in the transformation? Will you trust Me when you can’t hear Me? Will you rely on what you heard out of My mouth in the past seasons to point you toward your future. Even when the past seems to be haunting you and your present is despicable, will you wait for Me? Like I waited for you.

“I sent My Son to die for you because you are worth it. Didn’t I wait patiently for you to come to Me? So, will you wait for Me to come to you? Even though I am with you all the time, every day, will you wait for Me to come to you in a new way? Will you wait for Me to come and pull you out of that vat and into your next glory? Will you trust Me? I am compelling you to something greater than you can see. Something you can’t even imagine. But you’ve got to learn to trust Me in the waiting.”

Meditate on these Scriptures:

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord

In the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! (Psalm 27:13-14).

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him (Lamentations 3:25).

Let’s pray:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I say yes to Your heart. I say yes to Your timing. I say yes to Your work of transformation in my life. Would You give me the grace to wait on Your plans and purposes to manifest in and through me? Would you help me hold fast to Your promises, trusting in Your generous Spirit?
