It’s a time of resignations and a season of chaotic transitions.

We’ll see serious resignations through at least the first half of next year.

Some of these resignations will be necessary. Some will come in the wake of enemy setups through tactics such as false accusations that bring scandal (if we don’t pray.) Some will be shocking. Some will be welcomed.

CEOs will resign from major corporations. Politicians will resign from office. Church leaders will step down. Members will resign from churches in droves.

Call it a purge, partly demonic and partly divine.

I see a rash of resignations in many sectors. Some of them are resigning by God’s will. Some of them will be pushed out—even forced out (if we don’t pray). Some are deceived by enemy lies in the face of pressure to lead in the new normal.

I also see a time of chaotic transitions in the years ahead. I see “overnight successes” rising to power in the marketplace and in the seven mountains.

I’ll expound on resignations below.

When Samuel Stepped Down

Samuel stepped down by the leading of the Lord, though with grieving. We read about his transition in 1 Samuel 8, where Israel started demanding a king. Samuel was old and he appointed his sons as judges over Israel but they did not walk in his ways. They were dishonest, took bribes and perverted justice. Consider 1 Samuel 8:4-7:

“Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah; and they said to him, ‘Behold, you have grown old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations.’ But the thing was displeasing in the sight of Samuel when they said, ‘Give us a king to judge us.’ And Samuel prayed to the Lord. The Lord said to Samuel, ‘Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.’”

Elijah Stepped Down

Elijah also stepped down. Not too long after the showdown at Mt. Carmel and Jezebel’s death threats that left him hiding in a cave, God spoke to him about a transition. In 1 Kings 19:15-18, we read about the beginning of the ultimate transition.

“The Lord said to him, ‘Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus, and when you have arrived, you shall anoint Hazael king over Aram;  and Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint king over Israel; and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place. It shall come about, the one who escapes from the sword of Hazael, Jehu shall put to death, and the one who escapes from the sword of Jehu, Elisha shall put to death. Yet I will leave 7,000 in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

John the Baptist Stepped Down

John the Baptist, the forerunner-transitional prophet who paved the way for the first coming of Jesus Christ, had a successful ministry in Israel. He and his disciples had a vigorous prayer and fasting life. But there came a time when he had to step down. Read the account in John 3:27-31:

“John answered and said, ‘A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven. You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent ahead of Him.’ He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. So this joy of mine has been made full. He must increase, but I must decrease. He who comes from above is above all, he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.”

Chaotic Transitions

Not all resignations and transitions will be so smooth. In the coming years, I see a coup being plotted in a Latin American country. I see uproar in the Middle East in a quest for power. I see turmoil among leadership in Asia.

These are not ideas new to mankind. Adonijah attempted a coup in Israel’s government, plotting to take the crown away from his brother Solomon. Athaliah mounted a successful coup, killing most of her grandchildren and ascending to the throne of Israel as its first queen.

Not all coups are necessarily wicked. Jehu was anointed king to take out Jezebel and Ahab’s family line, putting an end to Israel’s nefarious monarchy—at least until Athaliah rose to power.

I also see God physically removing authority from Saul leaders in the church. Put a better way, the kingdom has been stripped away in past years but heirs of their church thrones will rise up in their stead like David after the death of Saul. Except in this time coming, it won’t be death that leads to the transition. God will oust the Sauls.

A Time to Pray

We want to cooperate with God’s plans and stand against the enemy’s plans. We partner with God I prayer to see His will and His kingdom come to earth. And we take authority over every enemy plot. Please pray:

Pray God’s chosen leaders will stay and remain in power according to God’s terms.

Pray against false accusations swirling around godly leaders in the seven mountains of society

Pray against demonic coups brewing in the spirit, so that they will not manifest in the natural.

Pray for Saul leaders to repent so their authority doesn’t have to be revoked.

Pray for the rise of leaders with a heart like David’s.
Pray as the Spirit leads you.
