As I’ve been part of delivering many people internationally, I am always amazed at the lasting effects our childhood has on us. One of the things many parents subject their children to in high school is hypnotism.
I remember how unsettled I was to learn my children’s class was paying to have a hypnotist come in and the students could pay $3 to partake. I held my children out of school that day, not wanting them to even be near the evil spirits being thrown into the spiritual atmosphere.
Our churches, ministry leaders, pastors, evangelists, parents and schools still partake in a different form of evil today called Halloween. As a spiritual warfare and deliverance minister, I know the deep effects of what happens in the spiritual realm on Halloween, the countless lives that are secretly sacrificed, the curses and spells that go up against Christians and all the ill effects that I am delivering people of years later.
I am here to tell you there is no such thing as masking Halloween as a fall fest, church trunk or treat or evangelistic friendly event. You are still celebrating the devil’s holiday, Halloween, and the demonic realm knows it! You are acknowledging an evil holiday by participating in any form.
We justify it by saying they will participate in Halloween somewhere, and therefore, we are creating a good alternative event. Do you realize in the process you are opening your family and church up to spiritual warfare attacks? There is no such thing as a good Halloween event.
The Word of God instructs us not to partake with evil:
“Stay away from every kind of evil” (1 Thess. 5:22).
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” (Eph. 5:11).
We don’t see the devil coming and celebrating Good Friday with us, so why should we celebrate Halloween with him? Dressing our children up and saying it is innocent is justification. I think sometimes we need to go back to the WWJD bracelets and say, “What would Jesus do?”
If Jesus was walking the earth right now with you, would you take Him trick or treating with your kids or have a fall harvest party? He is with you! He is in you!
Did you know satanists, witches, warlocks and others who desire to destroy Christians curse the candy they hand out? The candy is then consumed by you or your children. In the demonic realm, when they give you an item of theirs, or they obtain an item of yours, their curse has power. There is a spiritual exchange that happens.
We have no idea the powers of darkness that are behind Halloween. People who worship the devil make it their lifelong mission to destroy Christians. They spend their time cursing, destroying and putting forth destruction in the spiritual realm that wreaks havoc on our lives and then we can’t figure out why we can’t get healed of a disease, walk out of an emotional ailment or receive complete deliverance.
Demonic people spend more time cursing than most Christians spend praying. They are committed, organized and obedient to their cause, more so than most Christians. Their curses can be sent forth because we don’t believe in the demonic realm, we don’t pray offensively and we don’t take warnings like these seriously.
The Bible tells us, “For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12).
In order to live a saturated life full of God’s presence, purity and holiness, we must abstain from all forms of evil. In Psalm 91, it speaks of God’s protection upon us. His protection is upon us when we dwell in that secret place and live according to His Word. We need to dwell in a place of holiness. Light and darkness cannot exist together. We are the light and should not participate in darkness.

I felt this aligns with what God showed me on top of a mountain in Ghana Africa last month. America is the devil’s playground because we allow, actually enable people to play with their demons, even in a lot of church’s. I pray we align with the word of God only! Major things are about to happen and the lukewarm will be highlighted!
Last year I stood at our front porch with a poster of Martin Luther, had a record player going with the music from Explo ’72, and made a sign saying “Happy Reformation Day.” I knew kids would come to our door that night, regardless, and I handed out some of the small devotional gift books I’ve put together for Christian Brands Group’s Living Grace side, along with candy. No way was I going to celebrate evil, but celebrate our genuine relationship with Jesus, the LIGHT of the world. My neighbors got that message loud and clear, and nobody walked away offended. I prayed for each of them to be enlightened with the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
