The Lord gave a dream that disturbed me deeply. At first glance, it seemed to be a warning dream to the millennial generation. But the pieces were not fitting together in my spirit, so I committed to waiting on the Lord. After a prayer meeting, a friend & I were discussing what the Spirit was saying, & she had a word that confirmed & settled the message of my dream. [On a side note, this is one of many reasons why it is essential to align with other prophetic people].

In the dream, I was watching as a crowd of millennials were being led down a pathway. The atmosphere was young, fun & carefree with lots of laughing & cutting up. As they walked further, the atmosphere then became dark & the young adults were made to order themselves in a straight line, shoulder-to-shoulder.
And then without warning, SCHWACK! I watched in horror as an axe swung high to low, left to right through the upper torsos of the entire line in one fell swoop. A young lady who was in the line approached me & allowed me to look at the division that had occurred through her chest. It was a complete, deep cut but was not bleeding. And as the dream closed I thought to myself, “This can be healed”.

Presently, millennials have been given the discouraging title, “the least churched generation” in history. Many have been quick to judge, define, & even strategize how to evangelize, but in the end the assumption that they are a lost cause is false. America’s mostly areligious millennial population is ripe for spiritual awakening, not unlike the counter-culture Jesus Movement 50 years ago that creatively saw many “unreachable” young people radically saved. (Many of these converts are serving as church leadership today).

But back to the dream – As I began to seek the Lord for His message, it was revealed that the young adults were lured & wounded in the name of religion. As I pressed for more, this word came forward: “False teaching must fall before they come home.”

Whether it be false prophetic (Jer 23:16), crowd-pleaser preaching (Matt 6:26), or a fruitless church (Matt 7:18), false teaching leads to spiritual destruction in absence of the life-giving Spirit of Jesus & truth of the gospel.
“Men and women who have recently escaped from a deviant life are most susceptible to their [false teachers’] brand of seduction. They promise these newcomers freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, for if they’re addicted to corruption—and they are—they’re enslaved.” 2 Peter‬ ‭2:17-19‬ ‭MSG‬‬

‭‭In the dream, the thought that “This can be healed” applies both to the wounded church & this generation. Healing will come through fervent prayer & repentance. And like Nehemiah, when we cleanse the body of everything pagan. The Church must be positioned in love for the grand re-entrance of those who have tasted but were almost spiritually destroyed.

Let us declare that false teaching will fall as reformation continues to accelerate through the body of Christ.
