It's not by might, power, but by His spirit.

By Madeline James

Recently, I was getting ready to head to bed and felt prompted to spend some time with the Lord. As I sat on the couch waiting on the Holy Spirt, I saw an inner vision. In the vision I saw this huge mountain standing before me, and then I saw the Spirit of God come and move the moutain out of my way. After the mountain moved I heard the Lord say, “Speak grace grace to the mountain. It's not by might, by power, it's by my Spirit that the mountain shall be moved.” That powerful statement resonated deep within my spirit.  The days the days that following that encounter, at least once a day I would hear the verse Zechariah 4:6, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord.”

I believe this is a word for the Body of Christ. The Lord began to show me many in Body have become so frustrated because they have not seen the mountains or the obstacles in front of them move. They have not moved because many have been trying to move their mountains in their own strength or flesh. You cannot move a spiritual obstacle with a carnal act. 2 Corinthians 10:4 declares, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” At times we need to be reminded that we are in a spiritual war, and must use spiritual weapons to war.

In the Bible and in the spirit realm, mountains tend to represent a high place. They are a place of influence and authority that can be godly or demonic. I believe there has been a great push back by the enemy in these season, because a great advancement is being released upon the Body of Christ. The enemy is frustrating the people of God by placing these mountains or strongholds in front of them. The Lord is releasing an apostalic anointing in this hour upon His people to tear down, throw down, and uproot anything standing in the way of the Kingdom of God being established.

I believe this word is a caution and reminder that we must advance and move in the grace of God. The grace of God is His empowerment that allows us to advance and move in the realm of the spirit. His grace puts His super on our natural. Phillipians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We must learn to stay in that place of grace, empowerment, and walking in the spirit. We must stay connected to our power source, because apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5).

Zechariah 4 gives us some great insight to moving our moutains. We must stay planted in God. When we stay planted in God we can produce the oil needed to fulfill the assignment. The lampstand in Zechariah 4 represents the seven spirits of God. There were two olive trees planted right next to it. Trees tend to prophetically mean people. These trees were always blooming with olives and oil that would continuously cause the bowl of oil to overflow. Zechariah 4:11-14 says, “Then I answered and said to him, “What are these two olive trees—at the right of the lampstand and at its left?” And I further answered and said to him, “What are these two olive branches that drip into the receptacles of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains?” Then he answered me and said, “Do you not know what these are?”And I said, “No, my lord.” So he said, “These are the two anointed ones, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth.”

We must be people of His presence. When we are people of presence the oil, or the anointing will continuously flow. It's the anointing that breaks the yoke or enables us to move the mountains before us. You must be the keeper of the anointing in your life, be careful who you give access to the oil in your life. When there is flowing oil, revelation is released. When revelation is released, insight is given to know what to do with the mountain infront of you. Many are frustrated because they are don't have a revelation on what to with their mountain. Stay planted in His presence. His presence causes us to flourish no matter the season, or circumstance before us.

No only do we need to stay connected to His presence, we need faith to move our mountains. In Mark 11:23 Jesus tell us, “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself in the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen it will be done for them.” Faith and grace are required to move the mountains before you. Faith knows, sees, and believes it's already done. It's a confident trust, taking God at His word, believe that when you release His word the mountain will shift. The word of God is weapon against the things that rise up against you.

If there is a mountain or mountains standing before you don't be discouraged, put your trust and hope in God. Step into grace His empowerment, and begin to speak, “Grace grace,” to your mountain and watch it begin to shift. Remember it's not by might, nor by power, but it's by God's spirit your mountains will move.
