The Lord desires to demonstrate Himself through His people in this hour.

In a prayer meeting a little while back the Lord took me into a vision of the showdown between Elijah and the prophets of ba'al on Mount Horeb. I watched as Elijah prepared the sacrifice on the altar, and then according to God's instructions he had 4 large jars of water poured out on top of the sacrifice and the altar a total of 3 times. This act alone would deem it naturally impossible for the sacrifice to be lit or for the altar to sustain fire to burn up the sacrifice.
The Holy Spirit reminded me that the whole purpose of this showdown between Elijah and the prophets of ba'al, was to turn a nation from idolatry and the worship of self and bring about a remembrance of how much greater the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel was. It was a demonstration, an open show of the greatness of God's power. This wasn't a battle of who was the greatest god, that was already decided. God wasn't defending himself, He was demonstrating himself and there is a very big difference.
The Holy Spirit began to speak to me about the current state of affairs in the world today. He said to me,
“I AM wanting to demonstrate myself again, through my people. You are to become the sacrifice that I consume with My fire. Even in the face of impossibilities,You are to become My show of power to the false gods, principalities and powers that hold people captive. I will use you, my sons and daughters that will lay their lives on My altar and fully surrender to Me; I will send my fire down upon you and fully consume every part of you with Me. You will become a living sacrifice on display and a raw demonstration of My power to the world around you.”
This morning the Lord reminded me of all of this and had me look up the story of the showdown which takes place in 1 Kings 18. Before the fire of God falls and consumes the sacrifice, Elijah prays this prayer. Today, I pray it prophetically over you, because God is wanting to use you as you fully surrender to Him, to be His demonstration of power in the Earth, in this moment in time.
“O, Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O Lord; answer me so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God and that you are turning their hearts back again.”
In Jesus name, I declare over you today, a fresh hunger for the Lord and a boldness to lay your life on the altar of God as an act of worship, to surrender fully to Him. As you do so, He will sear in your heart His royal seal and the unquenchable fire of the Lord will consume you. His love, His joy, His righteousness, His very presence will overtake you. You will then become the fire that ignites everything around you with his love, turning the hearts of people from the worship of idols and the worship of self, to knowing and worshiping the One True and Living God. For God's heart is for people and nations to see through you a living demonstration of His power and His fiery love for them and causing their hearts to turn towards Him. In Jesus name, I prophesy “The great demonstration of His power in this season, has now begun!”
