You're stepping into victory.

By Madeline James

As we stepped into March I felt a significant shift in the spirit realm. I believe it's a time of taking and possessing the promises of God. The Lord is calling us to slay the giants that have stood in the midst of our promises, and it's time to take down the walls of your Jericho in your life. To the Israelites Jericho seemed impossible because it was one of the most secured cities. Despite how defended and secure Jericho was the Lord told Joshua, “I have given Jericho, it's king, and its men of valor into your hands” (Joshua 6:2). The Lord gave Joshua the word, but he still had to show up to the battle.

In warfare its important to partner with the word of the Lord. God is your greatest partner and help in battle. You must guard against getting frustrated and feeling like the Lord is against you. Joshua was feeling the same way in Joshua 5:13-15, “Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a manstanding in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?” It's important to have the right perspective in the midst of battle, because it can make or break you.

When you partner with the word of the Lord it brings victory. Jericho seemed impossible. It says in Jericho 6:1 says,”Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.” You will experience the greatest resistance right before the breaktrough. It's an intimidation tactic of the enemy. I believe in this season your movement or prophetic acts is what will bring the victory. There is a time to pray and seek, but there comes a time to possess the land. We are in a season personally and corporately of possessing the land. Boldness and courage is a must in this season. Joshua 1:6 says, “Be strong, confident and of good courage for you shall cuse this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.” The Lord is with you every step of the way.

The Lord told Joshua to have the people march around the city for 7 days, once a day for six days then seven times on the seventh day (Joshua 6:3). The word march in the Hebrew is cabab. It means to surround, encircle, change direction, to encompass. Often times when we hear of encircling its the enemy surrounding us. In warfare we must to go on the offensive, and take it to the enemy. As the Israelties were marching around Jericho they were staking their claim and declaring their victory. I saw in the spirit each time they circled the walls they began to cut them down layer by layer. Their movement in the natural was setting in motion their victory in the spirit.

I believe two things were happening in the spirit as the people marched. Even though the Lord told the Israelites Jericho was theirs, they had to prepare their hearts to possess the promise. God takes us through a procces every time to test and refine our hearts. When the walls fell they still had a choice to make. They could've remained on the outside and never stepped into what God had given them. The second thing happening as they marched around was the word of the Lord was being applied to the walls of Jericho. Every step was a step of faith bringing down the walls.

I prophesy that your Jericho wall is coming down in this season. Partner with the word of the Lord that has been released over you, and begin to march around your Jericho. Stake your claim and declare what is yours. What has seemed impossible and immoveable is coming down. The things that have hindered you will become your stepping stones of victory into your promise.
