It’s apparent that the world has morphed and is morphing. In July 2017, Bloomberg declared, “The World is About to Change Even Faster” in a news article about how the pace of innovation and disruption is accelerating.
Indeed, we are in an age of innovation and acceleration. Prophetically speaking, as part of this metamorphosis I see a spirit of innovation coming into the church. The see innovations throughout the Bible in the form of inventions, which are tied to our creator God’s wisdom impartations. Proverbs 8:12 tells us, “I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.”
The Bible speaks of Jubal, the first of those who played the harp and flute (see Genesis 4:21) and Zillah, the forger of all instruments of bronze and iron (see Genesis 4:22). Second Chronicles 26:15 speaks of Uriah who made engines of war invented by skillful men.

In modern times, many inventors credit God with their innovations. George Washington Carver, who invented at least 300 products from peanuts—including paper, soap, glue, and medicines—said, “The Lord has guided me,” and “without my Savior, I am nothing.” Mary Hunter, an award-winning chef, insists all her recipes come from heaven: “I don’t have a cookbook. God gives me my own. Prayer is where I get 99 percent of my recipes.”
Gary Starkweather, an engineer who invented the laser printer, said: “I believe that to a great extent, the creativity we possess is because the Creator put it there. God put things [in us] as tool developers and creative individuals and I think it has to please Him when He sees us use those faculties to make something completely new.”
I agree with Starkweather’s revelation and we need to embrace this pure wisdom from above. God is a Creator, an Innovator and an Inventor and we were created in His image and in His likeness. John 1:3 proclaims, “All things were created through Him, and without Him nothing was created that was created.” I believe this is still true; and that witty inventions, technologies, scientific breakthroughs and other innovations that make a positive impact on society are inspired by His Spirit, even if the inventor does not yet know Him.
The church has been lagging on the innovation front. Religion has offered us a form of godliness without its power (see Timothy 3:5). When the power of God comes on the scene, eyes are opened to what was unseen, dreams come alive, and creativity is inspired. The Lord wants to bring a metamorphosis to the church that is innovation-driven so we can reach unchurched people who have rejected religion.

I tell u a Truth….from what I’ve been researching, many inventors, with God-Given ideas have paid a terrible price, even their lives in coming up with innovative inventions in medicine, energy, biology, and other realms, only to have them suppressed, until NOW I hope, as I deeply suspect that God has had enough of seeing these particular ‘servants’ignored, shunned, even killed for their inventions.A new wave is coming I believe,of innovation in many areas….jn
Wonderful stuff that feeds my soul of expectation and brings me hope to my faith.
I confirm it, these words goes through my mind several days, when I was a little boy I dreamt about an invention of something helpfull and right for humanity and about a pioneer journey to a unbeaten/untouched “land”. So haleluyah and Your Kingdom come 🙂
“The Lord wants to bring a metamorphosis to the church that is innovation-driven so we can reach unchurched people who have rejected religion.”
I believe so, Jennifer. Amen.
This confirms the message God gave me about 2018,ushering in a season for innovations and breakthroughs. Indeed the spirit is one!
I wonder if many people are sitting on ‘good ideas’ and just need somewhere to share these and then be resourced and supported to actually develop and bring them to pass. I for one have had many good ideas over the years and have one ‘invention’ (a phone app) I would like to develop but have no idea how to go about it.
Thank you, Jennifer, for that word. The Holy Spirit directed me to John 1:1-5 this morning, specifically on me being that light shining in the darkness.Later during my morning walk, He prompted me to pray for 2 very artistic and creative sisters from church. When I came home, there was your article with the lightbulb! Talk about God-incidence!I am sharing this because I have been silenced due to fear, failures and past sins for far too long and this is the process God is showing me to release me to speak as I ought. I thank Him that a new day has dawned for me as I learn to fully listen and obey Him regardless of it all. So thank you for your forbearance in hearing me out! Looking forward to the great and mighty outpourings of His creativity and artistry on His people!
This is true it ties in with my Churche’s theme which is power.God is real
Thank you Jennifer! The church needs to see this truth and be open to how God is working within them, and within others.
God Speed, My Sister!!
Yes, it’s true that God guides us to our successes in our chosen fields. I am a Graphic Designer, painter, and Father God told me, “Soon, as the name Amy Grant is to Christian music, the name Velma Davies will be to art.” The artist Thomas Kincaid had people lined up to buy his paintings at $200,000.00 each when he died at age 54. Father God told me, “If Thomas Kincaid had given God the glory for his success, he would still be alive and still be painting. So always give God the glory for your success.” Thomas Kincaid attended the best art college in the nation at that time of the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Velma Davies graduated from there. Only 1 in 10 artists who enter there, graduate from there. I was the one in ten who did, but ONLY with God’s help! To God be the glory!
Looking forward to seeing your creativity come out!
