We usually begin each New Year with 40 days of fasting and prayer. In early December, while seeking the Lord about our upcoming fast, the opening phrase of an old hymn suddenly sprung up from within my spirit.

“Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee…”

Over and over again, the words of that song flowed from within me, becoming my prayer of repentance and surrender.

I then heard the Lord speak the instruction given to His people, Israel, just before crossing over the Jordan River (in the harvest season) to possess their inheritance: “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you” (Joshua 3:5).

This call to consecration was actually made each time God desired to release a powerful move of His Spirit among His people. I sensed this invitation was not for me alone. The Lord was asking me, as He did with Joshua, to release a corporate call to consecration as we cross over into this new year of power and great harvest.

Confirming the Call to Consecration

Just days after receiving this personal word and public assignment, a prophet came seeking to meet with us to deliver a word from the Lord. He began to share a vision the Lord had given him of a great wave of revival, glory and reformation. “The big one's coming! The big one's coming!” he said repeatedly, “And I see you riding the crest of that wave! Just like a surfer out in the ocean, watching and waiting to catch the big one, you are to burn the midnight oil! Roll up your sleeves for spiritual things! Study past revivals to prepare for the big one that's coming.”

Around the same time, I (Melissa) was contacted by my dear friend, Dehavilland Ford, who leads a ministry called 818 The Sign. Their mandate is to raise up an Isaiah 8:18 generation: “Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and wonders…” She shared a dream given to one of her ministry leaders.

In this dream, I (Melissa) phone called them and began shouting with urgency, “818, meet me in the secret place!”

The Lord is announcing His wave of revival and glory, coming with signs, wonders and a harvest greater than any we've yet to see. God desires that we walk in the fullness of all He's destined for us. He's calling us to meet Him in the secret place of consecration so we'll be ready to ride His wave.

The 3-Month Purge

Around the same time, Melissa heard God's call to consecration, the Lord was speaking to me (Anthony) about a coming season of cleansing. He brought to my remembrance the events that took place one ordinary day in 2006.

Melissa and I were students at Christ for the Nations Institute, a Bible college in Dallas, TX. Students and staff had enjoyed another great morning in worship and intimate moments with Jesus. As the school director got up to make the transition and release us to our classrooms, a guy on the front row raised his hand and asked if he could say something publicly. The director agreed and called him up to the mic.

“I want to publicly repent to my sister sitting next to me,” he confessed. “I've been looking at you with eyes of lust and I don't want to do this anymore. I'm a married man but I've been looking at you wrongly. Please forgive me.” The atmosphere shifted. Travail and repentance hit the entire auditorium of 1,200 students.

That one public confession opened the door to hours of public confessions, deliverances and great freedom.School began at 8 am. and was supposed to be over by noon, but this all went on well past 5 pm. that day. It was an invitation to holiness, the doorway to revival.

“Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
And who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood
And has not sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive a blessing from the Lord
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face—even Jacob. Selah.” (Psalm 24:3-6)

I hear Heaven declaring the first quarter of 2019 as “The 3-Month Purge.” The Lord is calling us to rend our hearts before Him. He is calling us to lay aside our pride and arrogance and let His purifying light into our dark places. Our ministry can be bringing life to many, while the minister is slowly dying spiritually. This cannot be.

There is a great release of power and an incredible harvest of souls coming in 2019, and the Lord desires that clean sons and daughters steward what He is putting forth.

This may not be “popular” talk in today's modern Church landscape, but the hour we're in requires a level of consecration, the likes of which we've not yet seen.

“‘Yet even now,' declares the Lord,
‘Return to Me with all your heart,
And with fasting, weeping and mourning;
And rend your heart and not your garments.'
Now return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and compassionate,
Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness
And relenting of evil.” (Joel 2:12-13)

Whether you are new in the Lord or have walked with Him for many years, there are greater depths of consecration God is inviting you into. It's time to burn the midnight oil. Roll up your sleeves. Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow, the Lord will do wonders among you.
