Our Heavenly Father is always speaking. God’s Word for today awaits us every morning.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27)

We, as sons and daughters of God, are invited to know the God of the universe in a very real and tangible way! Learning to hear God’s voice for yourself is one of the most elementary steps in our walk with Him, yet many of us have hardly delved into the spiritual and literal Word of God.

God’s Word for today can come from many places. The most obvious is the Bible! The Scriptures are God-breathed, meaning, God intended for every moment, story, phrase, and character to be represented.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

God is constantly whispering to us

Another way we can hear the Lord is the inner voice of God. We share space with God in our hearts and spirits. When we come to know Christ we invite Him into our inner world and we begin to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We are renewed and become new creations who think differently!

Paying attention to our thoughts, feelings, physical bodies, etc. gives us clues as to what God is saying to us! God is constantly whispering to us, calling us to turn our eyes to Him and see the way that He sees.

1 Kings 19:11-12, 1 Kings-19-11: “Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord  was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.“

God’s Word for today through worship

Another way God can clearly speak to us as we worship Him. Allow the Lord to whisper to you as you listen to this beautiful song, Hallelujah Here Below (Paradoxology) featuring Steffany Gretzinger.

I encourage you today to ask the Lord to teach you how to hear His voice and in the process and be willing to pay attention to things you never normally would have before. God is mysterious, yet He will always show up when we ask Him to – He rewards our hunger! Be ready to step out of your box and let Him do something new in your life!
