Romans 8 breathes a divine message of overcoming spiritual bondage and warfare.

By Holly Watson

At the beginning of this year, while my husband and I were attending a Prophetic Conference at our home church in Pasadena Ca, I was caught up in the spirit in a vision during worship. In this vision, I found myself standing with Jesus on the frontlines of the Army of God. Positioned behind us, was a mighty battalion of Kingdom Warriors all dressed and ready for battle. As I stood with Jesus atop an ancient landmark while surveying the expanse of land before us, Jesus stretched out His Arm and showed me the reach of our mission.

When I looked down at my armor making certain all of my battle gear was secure and in place, I noticed my sword was missing. The minute I noticed the absence of my sword, I turned to Jesus and said, ‘Lord, where is my sword?' No sooner had I asked Jesus this question, when a Bible appeared in my hand as my weapon of offense. With the Bible in my hand and with unwavering assurance, I raised the Bible in the air as a proclamation of Victory. The scene in my vision then changed to where Jesus was leading me away to a secret place in His Garden. As I knelt before Him dressed in beautiful Bridal attire, with a scepter in my hand, and with my military boots on, I humbly waited to hear and receive His counsel. As I lifted my eyes to gaze upon Jesus, He walked over to an ancient scroll sitting on top of a rock; stretched out His Hand, and engraved the words Romans 8 across the scroll with His Finger. When I looked up beyond the horizon of where Jesus and the rock were positioned, the Glory of the Lord was moving across the earth, with pockets of a fresh baptism of Holy Ghost fire, igniting regions throughout the land. I then heard the scripture verses from Phil. 4:19And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. As I prayed into this vision over the next few days, I heard Holy Spirit say, This is the Romans 8 Initiative.

So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God's love. I'm convinced that his love will triumph over death, life's troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. There is no power above us or beneath us – no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God's passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One! Romans 8:38-39

THE ROMANS 8 INITIATIVE

Immediately upon receiving this revelation and hearing Holy Spirit say this was The Romans 8 Initiative, I naturally went to Romans 8 to read the contents of its message. The Book of Romans is known as Paul's magnum opus of the scriptures. The Latin term magnum opus is defined as the greatest work of a persons career;  a body of work regarded of upmost importance to the author or writer. According to church history, the Spirit-filled content in the Book of Romans has sparked reformation and revival to those gleaning from its life-giving words. Romans 8, specifically, is a Book in the New Testament giving us the blueprints for living life by the Spirit. Romans 8 breathes a divine message of overcoming spiritual bondage and warfare, through living a life ruled by the Spirit of God. In penning the Book of Romans, Paul took the initiative with his pioneering spirit to reach the unknown population of Rome, by releasing the Gospel message of salvation through his Apostolic anointing.

There are so many verses prophetically relevant to the Body of Christ in Romans 8 at this hour. We are definitely a creation groaning and laboring with birth pains, awaiting for the Glory of the Lord to appear (Romans 8:22-23, Isaiah 60:1-2). We are the manifest Sons and Daughters of God, destined for Glory, Victorious through the Spirit; and reformers triumphing through the love of God, into our glorious destiny! The declarations and decrees filling the pages of Romans 8 are our weapons of warfare in this era for overcoming and staking claim to our prophetic promises. Despite the gross darkness covering the earth, the momentary trials and sufferings of this world; Christ in us, the hope of Glory, is our divine Helper and Great Intercessor. Romans 8:37We are more than conquerors through Christ, is our birthright as heirs of the Kingdom of God!

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

A Year of 8's

The significance of the Lord using Romans 8 in this year of 8's I believe is prophetically relevant. 8 is our number this year whether we go by the Georgian calendar of 2018, or by the Hebrew calendar of 5778. 8 is a trajectory number bringing us into a new order, new beginnings, and resurrection life. The number 8 is also connected to the eighth letter in the Hebrew alphabet – Chet  – which means to make fat, have more than enough (Phil. 4:19), fill to overflow, and to move from the natural to the supernatural. The pictograph of the Hebrew letter Chet is an open door or gate; and is connected to the Hebrew word olam, which literally means beyond the horizon. The number 78 is linked to miracles. The number 18 in Hebrew means life.
