We are created by the Master to be vessels that are useful!

The devil has studied you. He knows your name, your likes and dislikes. He knows every painful memory, every crack in your armor and every button to push. He has assigned demonic minions to you and increases the coverage as you ascend further the mountain of God. He sets traps, obstacles and distractions along the path that you are journeying. He will make sure that along with the resistance and warfare that he has custom designed for you, all of your favorite things will be readily available for your pleasure. They will be tainted however with addiction, familiarity and comfort that leads you away from seeking the comfort of the Holy Spirit. He knows the iniquities that are in your bloodline and he barges through those open doors with a legality that he is sure you don't know how to combat. He is a tyrant and you are the target for his tyranny. He is Beelzebub, the lord of the flies and he hates you.
When you are confused about who you are in Christ you leave yourself open for lordship of your life to belong to the enemy. His entire plan from the beginning of mankind was to convince us that God is not good and that we cannot trust Him. He is a liar. He simply wants to enslave each and every one of us, and that bondage begins when we believe his lies. Before we know it we are trapped in a vicious cycle of believing that God is holding out on us and we must make our own way in this life because He indeed ISN'T good and will never come through.
This morning the Lord met me like every morning with new mercies and an eagerness for our morning coffee and conversation. I was evaluating my own heart and my proclivity to give the enemy entrance, especially when dealing with painful situations. As I chatted with the Father I asked Him to bring some perspective to some internal struggles I've been having. Literally within minutes in my devotion reading, a word jumped off the page at me, “vassal”… I have never seen or heard that word before in my life. So curiously I googled it's meaning.
Vassal: “a person in the past who received protection and land from a lord in return for loyalty and service — often used figuratively to describe a person, country, etc., that is controlled by someone or something more powerful.”
Basically a vassal is controlled by a lording power that dominates it's ability to operate sovereignly. There is an indebtedness and allegiance to the dominant force and one is essentially “owned” by something more powerful. A synonym for the word vassal is “slave”.
As I thought about that and how perfectly it describes the sons of God when they have relinquished their rights of sonship, another word popped into my mind… VESSEL. Not VASSAL but VESSEL. I sensed Abba saying, “My children settle for being VASSALS when I have created them to be VESSELS…”
“Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 2:21
We are created by the Master to be vessels that are useful! Vessels carry something. They must be emptied out of everything that previously occupied the vessel in order to receive fresh sustenance. We must renounce allegiance to the enemy as VASSALS and be purified so that we can be holy VESSELS for every good work in the Kingdom.
“But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel…” -Acts 9:15
We are called to bear His name and carry His presence into all the Earth. We are chosen vessels of honor, duty and faithfulness. No longer slaves to tyranny and regret but sons that walk in the full authority of our Father! Let it be so!
