Known prophetically as the “Apostolic” state, Illinois has been a global leader with a strong economy. In fact, per capita the Gross State Product (GSP) in Illinois is among the highest in the U.S. and the overall GSP is fifth highest in the country. Illinois is also the fifth-largest exporting state in the nation.
However, major cities like Chicago seem to be under a curse of crime. Chicago is infamous for organized crime—and so is Satan. Al Capone and John Dillinger may be dead and gone, but the mafia spirit that motivated these notorious gangsters’ dirty deeds in the Windy City is alive and well. Mafia and death go hand and hand—and death tolls are rising in Chicago.
As a state at large, lawmakers say population loss is Illinois’s biggest problem. 2021 marked the eighth consecutive year of population decline for Illinois. Population losses have restrained housing appreciation and hurt economic growth, as well as reduced its workforce. Overall, this has caused a $31.4 billion hit to the state economy.

Let’s pray:
- Enter into identificational repentance for violence and murder; sexual immorality, racial injustice including segregation, God-robbing, division in the Church, shedding of innocent blood, idolatry, and mistreatment of indigenous people.
- Declare Illinois rises up as the apostolic state, restoring order and governing the churches according to the will of God.
- Pray that new churches in Illinois would be planted, including the restoration of order.
- Pray for another level of connectedness within the Body of Christ in Illinois to work together to spread the gospel.
- Pray against a religious spirit rising up in Illinois and quenching the spirit of God.
- Pray for greater unity in Illinois.
- Pray for the manifestation of the nine gifts of the Spirit, including workings of miracles, gifts of healings, different kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, faith, works of knowledge, words of wisdom, and discerning of spirits.
- Pray for miracles, signs, and wonders to abound in Illinois.
- Pray for the media to accurately report miracles, signs, and wonders so people may hear the truth and be saved.
- Pray for the spirit of God to flow freely throughout the State of Illinois.
- Pray for a greater revelation of God’s love and understanding of the Scripture to go forth in Illinois to save souls.
- Pray the Word of God is the foundation of the families within Illinois, resulting in the reduction of the rates of rape incidents and domestic violence.
- Pray for families in Illinois to equip children in the way that they should go so that when they are old they do not depart from it.
- Ask God to heal and comfort those who battle with mental health illness in Illinois.
- Pray for businesses and churches in Illinois to rise up with tools to assist parents with teaching their children faith in the one true Living God.
- Pray for the arts and entertainment industry in Illinois to have open doors to save souls and share God’s love to those walking in darkness.
- Pray for small group leaders, youth ministers, and others working with children to be a light unto the lost and those growing in the faith. Pray for them to be a godly example to the children, uncompromising, full of faith and wisdom.
- Pray revival fire sweeps through all public and private school and university campuses across the entire state of Illinois. Pray for the formation of prayer cells across these campuses.
- Pray biblical truth is the foundation of the Illinois education system; where education reform includes addressing literacy rates and shortages of social workers, psychologists, counselors, and nurses.
- Pray for a greater infilling of the Holy Spirit and anointing in the state of Illinois to overflow into the nation.
- Pray for the dismantling and uprooting of all terror cells and human trafficking rings within Illinois.
- Intercede to completely abolish abortion throughout the entire state of Illinois.
- Pray for the 2024 Illinois elections; that the spirit of the fear of the Lord would fall upon the candidates running for state and local office. Pray for the election of Kingdom-minded officials who will sit in office to advance the Lord's agenda within the state and not back down amidst the fight.
- Decree justice and righteousness is the foundation of Illinois.
- Pray for righteous rulership of the current Illinois government officials.
- Ask God to expose corruption on every mountain of societal influence within Illinois.
- Pray for the gospel to run swiftly through the prisons and jails within the state and for the scales to fall from the eyes of the unbelievers.
- Ask God to release His angels of protection to encamp along the borders of Illinois.
- Declare awakening, revival, and societal reformation throughout the entire state of Illinois.
