For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, when He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword (Job 33:14–18). When we received salvation we were told we had to give up our exciting night lives. But have you ever thought that believers in Jesus Christ should have the most exciting nightlives ever? Our nights should be filled with dreams, visions, and visitations of many and varied kinds, inspired by the Holy Spirit. God takes us through a preparation process in our dreams to get us ready to see and experience great spiritual things in our daily lives. Oftentimes we see it in the night seasons so that we can recognize it in broad daylight when we are in the middle of it. 1 John 3:2–3 states that as children of God we will be able to see things that have not yet been made known, and as we see God, we will be like him. We must be totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit for understanding, interpretation, and application of the revelation we receive.
