Signs of the Times: Man Hires Spellcaster to Keep Wife from Divorcing Him, and it Gets Worse

When the pandemic hit, the plague of divorce started spreading with it. Now, the threat of divorce has turned deadly in the case of a California couple and a spellcaster.

Larry Millete’s wife, May, wanted to end their marriage. His response was utterly demonic. Instead of working to be a better husband when his wife, he turned to the occult in a dastardly attempt to force her to stay with him.

San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan said Millete turned to spellcasters to make Maya want to remain his wife. Stephan relates, “He was asking for May to become incapacitated, for May to be in an accident, for her to have broken bones so she could stay home, thus displaying his homicidal ideations to harm May.”

The mother of three disappeared from her Chula Vista, Calif. Home on Jan. 7. On Tuesday, Millete was charged with murder. Despite an exhaustive search, there’s still no sign of May’s body nine months later.

“These efforts ultimately generated a variety of pieces of evidence that have become clear and overwhelming,” said Chula Vista police chief Roxana Kennedy. “Larry Millete, May’s husband, is responsible for May’s murder and disappearance.”

The Rise of Spellcasters

Spellcasters are part of the occult underworld. Spellcasters fall into the realm of false prophets who can perform great signs and wonders (see Matthew 24:24). In addition to Jesus’ “signs o of the times” discourse, Paul also warned of a false sign sand wonders in the days (see 2 Timothy 3:8).

The very definition of occult is something that is not revealed, or secret, concealed or hidden from view, not manifest or detected by clinical methods alone, matters regarded as involving the action or influence of supernatural or supernormal powers or some secret knowledge of them.

The occult practices of today are the same as those of 5,000 years ago. The names of occult practices may change, but the principles do not. From Shammanism to Santeria, we see the same underlying practices and forces at work. The latest trend, which is even infiltrating Facebook feeds, is spellcasters.

The Bible often calls it sorcery. Revelation 18:23 tells us by Babylon’s sorcery all the nations were deceived. This same Babylon is connected with the murder of true prophets. And it’s a sign of the times. As we move deeper into the end times, occultism will continue to rise and deceive people.

A Revival of the Devil’s Witchcraft

Healing evangelist A.A. Allen saw this decades ago and declared a revival of the devil’s witchcraft. He said, “An awful lot of people are sick, diseased and afflicted under a curse, under a spell because of the present revival of witchcraft around the world,” Allen declared. “There has never been a time in history when there has been such a devil’s revival of witchcraft.”

Think about it for a minute. In Allen’s day, there was no such thing as Harry Potter. Allen made this declaration before popular TV shows like Bewitched, Charmed and The Witches of East End—and before films like Rosemary’s Baby, The Blair Witch Project and Season of the Witch. Indeed, it was before children’s media like Meg and Mog, The Witch Family and Witches in Stitches hit the mainstream.

A Great Awakening

I’m believing for a Third Great Awakening. But the devil is clearly driving toward a great awakening of the occult. This revival of the devil’s witchcraft is unto an awakening to the occult that will set the very elect up to be deceived, it if is possible (see Matthew 24:24).

As you may know, I’ve written a book dealing with spiritual witchcraft called Satan’s Deadly Trio: Defeating the Deceptions of Jezebel, Witchcraft and ReligionMany times, infirmities are rooted in the devil’s witchcraft—and sometimes it comes from the spirit of Jezebel. The Bible talks about Jezebel and her witchcrafts (2 Kin. 9:22). Witchcraft can’t heal you, but it can release confusion, sickness and disease, depression and other ailments. At our recent women’s conference, Jesus healed 23 ladies—and several of them were afflicted with witchcraft.

We need to pray. A generation of youth has been exposed to witchcraft games, television shows, movies and more. The enemy is seducing people who are looking for the supernatural into a counterfeit movement could have dangerous eternal outcomes. In the book of Revelation, God has made it clear the fate of those who practice such things: sorcerers will have their portion in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone (see Revelation 21:8).

And we need to pray. Because divorce is, at least in this case, turning into murder.
