Prophecy: God is Looking for Governmental Intercessors

Prophecy: God is Looking for Governmental Intercessors

The government of the earth takes place in the prayer rooms. And we’re not governing with politics but with prayer. God is looking for unbiased governmental intercessors who will stand in their regions and rule and reign with Christ. I heard the Lord say:

“I am looking for governmental intercessors in this region that will rise up in My Spirit and legislate the territory with My Word. I am seeking those who understand how the courts of heaven operate and will explore what the enemy has said and is saying over your city. I am looking for prayer warriors who understand how to tap into My plans and co-labor with My Spirit to bring My Kingdom down. I am looking.”

Again, God is looking for governmental intercessors. You might be asking, “What is a governmental intercessor?” There are governmental intercessors and there are political intercessors. Political intercessors have the bias of a party and pray with prejudice. Governmental intercessors have the agenda of heaven and pray God’s will to be done.

Kingly Intercession

Webster’s defines govern as “to direct and control; to regulate by authority; to influence; to direct; to restrain; to steer or to regulate the course of; to exercise authority to maintain the superiority.” To exercise authority is to govern. The simplest way to explain governmental intercession is praying with Christ’s authority into earthy governments. A governmental intercessor prays with authority into governments, whether church governments, local, state, national or international governments.

Governments are organizations through which politicians exercise authority and distribute power. There is no higher government than the government of God. Governing intercessors have delegated authority in Christ to decree God’s will to be done and His Kingdom to come on earth—and in governments.

As I write in my book, Decrees that Make the Devil Flee, believers have a duality of standing in the role of both kings and priests. Jesus is King of kings—and we are the kings. Revelation 1:6 says He has made us “kings and priests to His God and Father.” Romans 5:17, “For if by one man’s trespass death reigned through him, then how much more will those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”

I teach extensively on governmental intercession in my School of Prayer & Intercession. For our purposes right now, I want to press into this prophetic word.

God is Looking

In the prophecy, God said, “I am looking for governmental intercessors in this region that will rise up in My Spirit and legislate the territory with My Word.”

God’s eyes are looking for governmental intercessors. 2 Chronicles 16:9, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” God is looking for a man to stand in the gap and make up the hedge, just as He did in Ezekiel’s day (see Ezekiel 22:30).

God is Seeking

In the prophecy, God said, “I am seeking those who understand how the courts of heaven operate and will explore what the enemy has said and is saying over your city.”

Many books have been written about the courts of heaven. Although there are many proof of the courts of heaven in Scripture, we find the key Scripture in Daniel 7:9-10:

“I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, its wheels a burning fire; A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.”

The courts of heaven are real. Some may take this concept to extremes and run to the courts of heaven with matters that could be settled by our authority on earth alone. But that’s all the more reason to understand the courts of heaven.

Governmental intercessors are also charged with exploring with the enemy has said or is saying over your city. What threats is the enemy making? What curses lie in the land?

God is Wanting Co-Laborers

In the prophecy, God said, “I am looking for prayer warriors who understand how to tap into My plans and co-labor with My Spirit to bring My Kingdom down. I am looking.”

Johnathan Edwards once said, “God does nothing except in response to believing prayer.” He chooses to co-labor with us ambassadors who carry Christ’s delegated authority in the earth. In fact, the Bible calls us co-laborers with Christ (see 1 Corinthians 3:9).

God is sovereign. But He is looking for partnership with His people. He is looking for governmental intercessors who will not call down fire on opposing parties, but who will call forth His will on earth as it is in heaven. Is that you?

I’m looking for 1,000 prayer warriors to raise up as prayer leaders. Are you one of them? Launch an Awakening Prayer Hub or join one at www.awakeningprayerhubs.com.
