Known prophetically as “The Whirlwind” State, Washington is home to some of the largest and most influential companies in the world.

Seattle, Washington's largest city, hosts the headquarters of tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon. The state is also a leader in aerospace, with Boeing’s significant presence contributing to the nation’s manufacturing and export sectors.

Agriculture is another critical component of Washington’s economy and the state is a major player in trade and logistics. The ports of Seattle and Tacoma are among the busiest in the United States, serving as key gateways for international trade, particularly with Asia.

Education and research are also strong suits for Washington. The state is home to leading universities like the University of Washington, which is known for its medical, engineering, and computer science programs.

Despite its many strengths, Washington faces several challenges. One of the most pressing issues is the rising cost of living, particularly in urban areas like Seattle. The rapid growth of the tech industry has driven up housing prices, making affordability a significant concern for many residents.

Balancing economic growth with environmental preservation is crucial for maintaining the state’s quality of life and natural heritage. And infrastructure strain, particularly in transportation, is also a pressing issue. Rapid population growth and urbanization have led to traffic congestion and public transportation challenges.

This week, Awakening Prayer Hubs is praying for Washington.

Let’s pray:

Repent of violence, idolatry, robbing God, sexual immorality, covenant breaking, Freemasonry and any involvement in the occult, state-wide abortions.

Pray for voices in media in Washington who will rise in the morning, direct their voice to the Lord, and keep watch (Psalm 5:3)

Pray men and women called to further God's purposes in Washington's arts and entertainment would sow for themselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up their unplowed ground and seek the Lord until He comes and sends righteousness on them like the rain (Hosea 10:12)

Pray for righteous rulership within Washington's government who examine and test their ways, turning back to the Lord (Lamentations 3:40)

Pray for the 2024 Washington elections, for state officials who deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow after Jesus (Matthew 16:24)

Pray the state of Washington would end the right to abortion.

Declare justice and righteousness will be the foundation of Washington.

Pray for a cross-denominational hunger across the Body of Christ in Washington to catch the fire, seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face evermore (1 Chronicles 16:11)

Pray for the Gospel to run swiftly through the state.

Pray for the hearts of families in Washington who worship and bow down; who kneel before the Lord our Maker united in the Father's love (Psalm 95:6) (Psalm 133:1)

Pray for biblical order to be restored in Washington families.

Pray for the exposure and dismantling of all human trafficking rings; for justice to be served. Pray for the salvation of all involved (2 Peter 3:9)

Pray for Washington's fentanyl crisis.

Pray for the uprooting of all terror cells in the land.

Pray for protection along the borders of the state.

Pray for healing of the land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Pray for leaders called into the marketplace who seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be provided for them – prosperity to finance Kingdom expansion (Matthew 6:33)

Pray for miracles and wonders to sweep across the Washington education mountain as God demonstrates His power among the people through willing vessels (Psalm 77:14)

Pray for the restoration of a biblical foundation within Washington's education system.
