The enemy hates your family. Let me say that again so it sinks deep into your spirit: the enemy hates your family. And if you're not discerning the attacks he's launching against your household, he will wreak havoc while you sit back wondering why everything is falling apart.
I've seen it time and time again in my years of ministry. A family that was once unified suddenly can't be in the same room without an argument erupting. A marriage that was thriving hits a wall of cold silence and suspicion seemingly overnight. Children who were walking with God suddenly rebel and want nothing to do with the things of the Spirit. These aren't coincidences, friend. These are assignments.
The Attacks Hell Launches Against Families
Hell has a strategic playbook against your family, and it's more calculated than most believers realize. The enemy sends spirits of division to drive wedges between husbands and wives, parents and children, siblings and extended family. He whispers lies that breed offense, and before you know it, people who are supposed to be covering each other in prayer are barely speaking.
He launches financial attacks designed to create stress and pressure that spills over into every relationship in the home. When money gets tight, tempers get short—and the enemy knows it.
He attacks health to wear down your faith and drain your emotional reserves. He sends distractions and seductions to pull spouses away from covenant. He targets your children with anxiety, depression, peer pressure, and ungodly influences that seek to pull them off the path God has ordained for their lives.
And here's what many don't see: generational patterns. The enemy exploits unbroken curses and familiar spirits that have operated in your bloodline for generations. That same spirit of divorce that destroyed your parents' marriage? It's eyeing yours. That same addiction that gripped your father? It's circling your son. These aren't random struggles. These are demonic assignments with your family's name on them.
The Damage Is Real
The damage these attacks cause goes deep. Broken trust. Shattered communication. Homes split apart. Children growing up wounded and carrying that pain into their own marriages and families, perpetuating the cycle. The enemy doesn't just want to hurt you. He wants to create a generational ripple effect of destruction that echoes for decades.
When families fracture, it weakens the very foundation God designed to be a place of covering, identity, and spiritual strength. A divided house cannot stand, and the enemy knows that an isolated believer is an easier target than a family unified in prayer and purpose.
How to Stop It
So how do you fight back? You fight on your knees.
First, you need to discern what's happening. Stop blaming your spouse, your kids, or your circumstances and start recognizing the spiritual root behind the conflict. Ephesians 6:12 tells us plainly that our battle is not against flesh and blood.
Second, take your authority. Jesus gave you power over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Open your mouth and cancel every assignment of hell against your family by the blood of Jesus. Be specific. Call out the spirits of division, strife, rebellion, infirmity, poverty, and addiction by name and command them to loose your household.
Third, cover your family in daily prayer. Not passive, half-hearted prayer—I'm talking about fervent, strategic, Scripture-fueled intercession that builds a wall of fire around your home.
Finally, close every open door. Repent of any agreement with the enemy's lies. Break any generational curses operating in your bloodline. Consecrate your home and dedicate your family to the Lord afresh.
The enemy may have launched an assignment against your family, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Rise up, take authority, and decree: I cancel every assignment of hell against my family—in Jesus' name.
