Have you ever felt like the truth got tangled before it ever reached you? You spoke clearly. Someone else heard the opposite. That is not always a communication problem. Sometimes it is Leviathan.
The Twisting Spirit
The Hebrew word for Leviathan is livyathan. It means twisted, coiled, wreathed. This is not a creature that attacks head on. It coils. It wraps. It distorts. Isaiah 27:1 names it plainly: "Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan that twisted serpent." Notice the word twisted. That is the signature.
Leviathan does not just deal in pride, though pride is its throne. Job 41:34 says, "He beholds every high thing; he is king over all the children of pride." But there is a witchcraft dimension to this principality that many intercessors miss. Leviathan twists words. It twists meaning. It twists relationships until allies become enemies over things that were never said.
How Leviathan Hides
This spirit thrives in concealment. Job 41:13 asks, "Who can remove his outer coat? Who can approach him with a double bridle?" Leviathan wears layers. It hides behind offense. It hides behind misunderstanding. It hides behind your own assumptions about what someone meant.
Have you noticed how confusion always seems to spike right before breakthrough? Right before a marriage heals? Right before a ministry launches? Right before a prayer movement gains ground? That is not coincidence. That is a twisted serpent fighting to keep its cover.
You cannot defeat what you cannot see. So the first weapon against Leviathan is not a louder declaration. It is discernment.
Light Exposes the Coil
Ephesians 5:13 declares, "But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light." You cannot war against what you cannot see. Leviathan banks on staying hidden. So exposure is not the victory. Exposure is what makes the victory possible.
This is why prophetic warfare against Leviathan starts with discernment. You ask the Holy Spirit to show you what is really happening. Where is the twisting? Whose words got distorted? What relationship is being coiled around? You stop fighting the person and start fighting the principality wearing the person like a coat. Once you see it, then you fight. And it is a real fight.
Psalm 74:14 reminds us, "You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces." God has already broken this thing. Your assignment is to enforce what Calvary already accomplished.
Refuse the Distortion
Stop accepting twisted communication as normal. Stop carrying offense the enemy manufactured. Stop letting confusion settle in your house, your marriage, your prayer hub, your ministry team. The moment you recognize the pattern, you have already begun to break it.
Leviathan counts on your silence. It counts on you blaming flesh and blood. It counts on you never naming the twist.
Not today.
Expose it. Name it. Bring it into the light. Then go to war. The twisted serpent fights hardest once it is uncovered, but a watchman who sees clearly knows exactly where to strike. Pull off the coat. Drag the coil into the light. And enforce what Calvary already broke.
