Proverbs 29:2 tells us, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Many are mourning right now.

When Christ is not enthroned over a nation, something else always is. A vacuum in the spirit is never empty for long. Principalities move in where the King is pushed out. 

Ephesians 6:12 reminds you that your struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age. Those rulers have addresses. Many of them sit on the government mountain.

Do you see it now? The chaos in the nations is not random. It is a battle over who governs.

Why This Is Critical Right Now

Look at the hour we are in. Wars are multiplying. Nuclear threats are making headlines. Leaders are hardening. Trust is collapsing. The old order is shaking. 

Intercession for the government mountain is critical.

The enemy knows that whoever is atop the government mountain shapes everything downstream. Law flows from that mountain. Justice flows from that mountain. War and peace flow from that mountain. When darkness sits there, the people groan.

Here is what the world doesn’t understand. You cannot legislate your way out of a spiritual condition. Righteous legislation is good, but it can’t change the heart of man. Though we should vote, you cannot vote your way out of a demonic assignment. And you certainly cannot negotiate a treaty with a principality. 

The tension in the earth is a symptom. The sickness is spiritual. And the medicine is revival.

What Revival on the Government Mountain Would Look Like

Revival looks like heaven invading earth. It is the answer to the prayer Jesus taught you to pray in Matthew 6:10: “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

So what would it look like when that prayer is answered on the government mountain?

Revival on the government mountain would look like the fear of the Lord returning to the halls of power. It would look like leaders trembling before God instead of trembling before the polls. Isaiah 33:22 declares, “For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us.” Revival recognizes God in all three roles. 

Revival on the government mountain would look like corruption exposed and dragged into the light. It would look like righteous men and women rising into authority, not for their own gain, but as servants who fear God. It would look like wicked laws overturned. It would look like the raging of the nations giving way to the peace of God. 

We need to pray.

Despite all the doom and gloom predictions and prophecies, we are not powerless in this moment. You are seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above every principality that thinks it owns the government mountain. From that seated position, exercising His authority, you can release powerful prayers that birth revival even in the hardest places.

1. I declare the government rests on the shoulders of Jesus Christ alone. I enthrone Him over the nations and evict every rival authority from the seat of power, in the name of Jesus (Isaiah 9:6).

2. I bind the powers of corruption assigned to the government mountain. I tear down every demonic stronghold operating through corrupt leaders and unrighteous systems (Ephesians 6:12).

3. I ask You, Lord, to turn the hearts of rulers toward Your will, according to Proverbs 21:1. Give them dreams by night and visions by day.

4. I call righteous men and women into positions of governmental authority. Remove the wicked from their seats and raise up leaders who fear God, in Jesus’ name (Daniel 2:21, Proverbs 29:2).

5. I command every hidden work of darkness on the government mountain to be exposed. Let what was done in darkness be dragged into the light and judged (Luke 8:17).

6. I release the spirit of wisdom, counsel, and the fear of the Lord upon those in government. Let no leader lean on his own understanding (Isaiah 11:2).

7. I overturn every unrighteous decree and wicked law written against Your purposes. I annul them in the courts of heaven, in the name of Jesus (Isaiah 10:1).

8. I call forth Kingdom reformers onto the government mountain. Position believers as salt and light in the halls of power (Matthew 5:13-14).

9. I pray for salvation, spiritual revival and awakening on the government mountain.

10. I declare Your kingdom come and Your will be done on the government mountain as it is in heaven.
