Python Spirit, Release My Prayer Life!

Check out my course, Python: Breaking the Grip of Constricting Witchcraft, at https://www.schoolofthespirit.tv/courses/python

You used to pray with fire. Now you sit down to seek God and your mind wanders. You start to intercede and heaviness settles on you like a wet blanket. You mean to pray tomorrow, and tomorrow turns into next week. You still love God. But your prayer life feels pressed, pinned, and losing ground.

It is time to fight for it.

Python on the Path to Prayer

Look closely at where the battle started in Philippi. “Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling” (Acts 16:16).

The Greek word for prayer here is proseuchē. It speaks of prayer offered to God and was also used of a place set apart for prayer. Paul and his team were headed to the place where they met with God. That is exactly where the opposition met them. Day after day it followed them. Day after day it cried out. Scripture says, “And this she did for many days” (Acts 16:18).

Here is the application. The enemy knows where your power is. He does not have to stop you from loving God. He only has to keep you from praying. If he can wear you down on the way to prayer, he can keep you from what happens in prayer.

Pressure Is Not Permission to Quit

Jesus saw this battle coming. “Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1).

Notice the two options. Pray or lose heart. There is no third lane. When prayer gets heavy, the temptation is to back off and wait for a better season. But the heavier it gets, the more you need to press in. Weariness is not a sign to stop. It is a signal to stand.

Pray Your Way Out

Python wants your prayer life pinned down. God wants it released. Don't negotiate with the Python's constricting witchcraft. Don't wait for it to lift on its own. Go back to the place of prayer. Pray when it is hard. Sing when it is midnight. Keep knocking until the foundations shake. The chains that held Paul and Silas broke in a prayer meeting. Yours will too.
