God has not given us a spirit of fear. Fear is a bondage. Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). Can you see the contrast?
Fear has torment (1 John 4:18). Just as there are levels of fear, from slight dread all the way to full-blown panic, there are degrees of torment. But Jesus was tormented on the cross so that we can take authority over fear.
