Don’t Release Witchcraft Against Yourself!

Don’t Release Witchcraft Against Yourself!

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” — Proverbs 18:21

The Bible couldn’t be clearer: the words we speak carry supernatural power. You don’t need to be casting spells or mixing potions to release witchcraft in your life. When you speak words of death over your destiny, over your health, over your relationships—you are, in effect, releasing witchcraft against yourself.

I know, that may sound a little harsh. But think about it for a moment. When we speak words that contradict God’s truth, we are partnering with the enemy’s lies. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Our words are not neutral. Every word you speak is either releasing the will of God or giving the enemy access to wreak havoc in your life.

The Subtle Trap of Self-Sabotage

We often think of witchcraft as something external, something others try to do against us. But there’s a subtle trap many of us fall into without realizing it: self-inflicted witchcraft. When we grumble, complain, curse ourselves, or speak negatively about our future, we are literally empowering demonic forces to work against God’s plans for us. The enemy knows this, which is why he often tries to influence what comes out of our mouths.

Have you ever caught yourself saying things like:

  • “I’ll never get out of this situation.”
  • “I’m always going to be broke.”
  • “My life is just one failure after another.”

Those words don’t come from God’s heart. They come from a spirit of defeat and discouragement. And when we give voice to these things, we give them power. We are releasing spiritual witchcraft that works against our own success, health, and spiritual well-being.

Words as Open Doors

The words we speak are like keys. They can either open doors for the Holy Spirit to move in our lives, or they can open doors for the enemy to gain access. When we continually declare defeat, despair, or death over ourselves, we are inviting demonic forces to enforce those very things. It’s no different than witchcraft—it’s just aimed at yourself.

In Ephesians 4:29, Paul warns, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up.” That “others” includes you. Are your words building yourself up, or are they tearing yourself down?

Reversing the Curse

If you’ve been speaking negatively over your life, it’s time to reverse the curse. It’s time to break the power of the words you’ve spoken, repent for partnering with the enemy, and begin speaking life and truth over your situation.

Pray something like this:

“Father, I repent for every negative word I’ve spoken over my life. I cancel the assignment of those words and break any witchcraft I’ve released against myself. I declare that I am the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. I speak life, hope, and victory over my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

This is where spiritual warfare begins—on your tongue. The enemy can’t defeat a believer who continually speaks life. He may try to plant seeds of doubt, fear, and discouragement, but when you combat his lies with the truth of God’s Word, you close the door on witchcraft and open the door to the blessings of heaven.

Aligning with God’s Word

To stop releasing witchcraft against yourself, you must align your words with God’s Word. This means you don’t speak from a place of fear, doubt, or frustration. Instead, you speak in faith, even if your circumstances haven’t changed yet. God’s Word is full of promises that counter every negative situation. Speak His promises!

  • Feeling weak? Declare, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
  • Facing lack? Declare, “My God will supply all my needs according to His riches in glory” (Philippians 4:19).
  • In spiritual warfare? Declare, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17).

When you speak life, you release God’s power into your circumstances. Your words become a shield of faith that extinguishes every fiery dart of the enemy (Ephesians 6:16). Instead of releasing witchcraft, you release the supernatural intervention of heaven.

The Bottom Line

Your words have power. They are seeds that will grow into either blessings or curses, depending on what you speak. Proverbs 18:21 is a call to take responsibility for our words. It’s a wake-up call to stop releasing witchcraft against ourselves through negative speech. Instead, we must declare the life-giving truth of God’s Word over every aspect of our lives.

Don’t partner with the enemy’s agenda for your life. Speak life, and watch the power of God work in and through you in ways you never thought possible.
