No professional athlete, or athletes in general, enjoy losing a game. But in competitive sports, there is always a winner and a loser. It’s how you react after a loss that indicates your character. Below are a list of 10 NBA players, past and present, who you may not have known are Christians. They give all the glory to God in winning and in losing.

Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard is a center-forward for the Washington Wizards.  He has been one of the most vocal athletes in the NBA about his Christian faith.

“I’m down to earth. I’m laid back. I just like to make sure people smile. Everybody needs to realize that it doesn’t matter how old you are or how young you are, you still can be a Christian and live for God. It’s not easy but that’s why we have God’s word and He forgives us when we do something we shouldn’t be doing. You know, God sent His son to die for us and He paid that sacrifice so you can go to Heaven.” – Dwight Howard

Chris Paul

Christopher Emmanuel Paul (born May 6, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the NBA. Despite some public failures, and personal issues, he has remained publicly devoted to God. He turned to God throughout all his trials and he wouldn’t be where he is today without his faith in Christ.

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant currently plays for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA.  He is not only a start basketball player, but he is a passionate and outspoken follower of Jesus!

“I’m not perfect at all by any means. I’ve got a long way to go to become closer to the Lord but hopefully I can continue to stay on the path. I might take a few steps forward and take a couple steps back and take some steps forward, but I want to get better.” – Kevin Durant

Nate Robinson

Nate Robinson is a point guard who formerly played for the New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Chicago Bulls and several other top teams in the NBA.  He has been known to encourage and bless his teammates throughout the season.

“Just stay ready bro; God will bless you, trust me.  I play the way I do because God blessed me and I represent for those who get looked over.” – Nate Robinson

Blake Griffin

Blake Griffin plays forward for the LA Clippers.  His family growing up was from a strong Christian background.  His parents homeschooled him and that gave them the ability to instill core Christian values into him.
