Some changes and transitions are so overwhelming that even the first step can seem daunting. Whether you’re getting out of a rut or getting to the place where your provision and God-given dream collide, one of the hardest and most intimidating things to do is take some intentional action.
Maybe you’re someone who feels crippled by overwhelm in transition and struggling to grapple with the journey ahead. Trust in the Lord. He’s got your back and He’s ordering your steps.
I heard the Lord say:
“Don’t be afraid to take some action moving forward because of the gap between what you know and don’t. Just take the first step. Some of you want the whole plan to be laid out but just take the first step. First step up and when you get your bearings after the step up, step out. I’m not going to show you every step from here to eternity. I’ll show you what you need to see when you need to see it because it would overwhelm you.
“If you saw the whole journey that was in front of you, the big obstacles and warfare you would want to quit and run back to your comfort zone. You would be too overwhelmed to make it into your next growth opportunity and blessing. I will take you step by step. I will lead you step by step. So, take one step at a time and don’t worry about taking more than one step. Don’t be concerned about what’s five steps ahead.
“I will show you things to come. I will warn you of enemy attacks. I will bring you into that place of confidence, one step at a time.”
Meditate on these Scriptures:
Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me (Psalm 119:133).
A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps (Proverbs 16:9).
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way (Psalm 37:23).
Let’s pray:
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for ordering my steps, one at a time, into Your perfect will for my life. Help me keep walking in Your way. Teach me to trust in You when I can’t see the way through. Warn me if I am heading in the right direction and bring me into a course correction. I will follow your leadership.
