I was in the Florida Keys at an airport lounge with floor to ceiling windows. I could see the tarmac and the bright blue sky from where I was seated. Some people were eating and drinking. Others were hurriedly working on their laptops between flights. Still others were enjoying relaxed conversations.
In the dream, I was watching all of this in silence when suddenly I saw a monstrosity of a black cloud. It wasn’t a cloud from the sky. It was a black cloud that appeared to emit from an gasoline explosion. The cloud was blacker than black.
Indeed, the cloud was so thick you couldn’t see through it. I was astonished at the vision. As I kept on looking I saw a FedEx cargo airplane emerge from the large, billowing cloud of smoke. I couldn’t believe the airplane was still in one piece.
I thought to myself, “Did the plane crash? Did someone drop a bomb? What happened?”
The plane attempted to ascend but then would descend, bumping on the tarmac as it went. Each time I thought the plane would recover and continue, it landed back on the ground. Clearly, the plane was damaged. This happened three times and finally the plane crashed.
I turned to my friend who was with me and said, “Would you look at this?” We walked closer to the floor to ceiling windows to take a better look. No one else in the lounge was even paying attention.
What does all this mean?
Principalities Attacking Prayer Movement
I was an observer in a dream. Usually, when you are an observer in a dream it’s for the sake of intercession. This dream wasn’t about me. I was a watchman.
I was looking through floor-to-ceiling windows. In the dream world when you look through glass it means God is giving you a prophetic perspective. I was protected from the chaos on the tarmac, but was positioned to see the black cloud and the plane that struggled to ascend so it could fly to its intended destination.
The black cloud represents demonic forces. I strongly believe fear is one of those forces. I’ve seen the spirit of fear and it’s blacker than black. As the spiritual warfare heats up, fear will continue to be a weapon the enemy uses to get intercessors to faint. He knows intercessor can’t stand in fear and faith at the same time.
Urgent Prayers Being Thwarted
Whatever the cloud represents, the Lord is clearly showing me the prayer movement—and the intercession of praying ministries—is being attacked. The principalities and powers in the second heaven are not just opposing the prayers, but attacking the intercessors before they can even get fully off the ground.
Think about it for a minute. What does FedEx cargo planes carry? Packages. And not just any packages. Urgent delivery packages. FedEx bills itself as the provider to choose “when it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight.” These are urgent prayers of the saints the enemy is strategically opposing.
The plane was a metaphor for ministries carrying a prayer agenda in the earth. The enemy is attacking the prayers of the saints, sabotaging prayer groups with Jezebel infiltrations, causing some to fear the backlash and stop praying altogether, and otherwise interfering with our prayers.
Scriptural Patterns at Play
We see this same attack on Daniel the prophet’s prayers. Look at Daniel 10:10-13 and we can get some insight into what is going on in the second heaven:
“Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. And he said to me, ‘O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.’ While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling.
“Then he said to me, ‘Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.”
Can you see it? It’s time for intercessors to get trained for battle. It’s time for us to understand Jezebel’s assignment against intercessors and the prayer movement. It’s time for intercessors to press more deeply into cooperating with angels.
