Prophetic Warning: The Food Supply Is Enemy’s Next Target

Prophetic Warning: The Food Supply Is Enemy’s Next Target

Over the last several days as I have been engaged in intercession, I continue hearing the same warning echo in my spirit: the food supply is next.

The enemy is not done wreaking havoc in the nations. While I prophesied about the coronavirus splitting and mutating, the attack goes beyond plagues.

Beyond plagues, the next sign of the times will be something that looks more like a famine, though temporary. I see a contamination coming to some of the food supply that will result in shortages in some areas, as well as sickness and deaths. People will rush to order online, putting strain on the overall food supply in unaffected areas.

When we think of famine, we tend to think of children in Africa with extended bellies. The famine we will see coming into First World Nations will be more of a scarcity than a complete lack of food, again, due to a contamination. In fact, we’ve seen a glimpse of this with grocery store shelves being completely emptied out in some cities during the COVID-19 scare.

We should have seen it coming before now—and some, like Jim Bakker—did. The word famine came first. Consider Amos 8:11 (NLT), “’The time is surely coming,’ says the Sovereign Lord, ‘when I will send a famine on the land—not a famine of bread or water but of hearing the words of the Lord.”

Throughout the pages of the Bible we see famines, so this should come as no surprise. We also see God give strategies for surviving through a famine. God gave Pharaoh a dream of seven years of abundance followed by seven years of famine, then gave Joseph the interpretation and a wise strategy to save the world.

Famines come in the wake of sin. Ezekiel 14:13 (NLT) tells us “Son of man, suppose the people of a country were to sin against me, and I lifted my fist to crush them, cutting off their food supply and sending a famine to destroy both people and animals.”

I don’t believe God is lifting His fist, but perhaps lifting His hand—the hedge of protection. God is actively seeking people who will stand in the gap and make up the hedge in this hour. He is looking for the righteous to release intercession for the nations and abate what comes next.

In Ezekiel 22:30 (NLT), He tells us, ““I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.”

Six years ago, I prophesied The Righteous Shall Never Be Shaken. It’s time to review that prophecy again in light of world events. We can’t pray away end-times prophecies—and Jesus said in the last days there would be pestilence and famines, among other signs—but we can pray. And we can stand on the promises of God, one of which is Psalm 37:18-19 (NLT):

“Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever. They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough.”

Prayer points:

Pray for the church to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, so everything else we need will be provided for us (see Matthew 6:33)

Pray for the food supply chain to run smooth, with no contamination and no disruption.

Pray that creative innovations would emerge to reduce the impacts of food contamination.,

Pray for miraculous intervention so the oil and the flour do not run dry.
