I don’t know about you, but February always feels like a crossroads month. The fire of January’s fresh vision starts to dim for many, and the enemy loves to use this time to sow seeds of discouragement. But let me tell you something—February is a month where you can set the trajectory for the rest of the year if you pray right.
We’re still early in the year, but February is a time of testing. Many people come out of the gate strong in January, making faith declarations, starting fasts, and pressing in for breakthrough. But then February hits, and suddenly, resistance shows up like an uninvited guest.
The Spiritual Opposition in February
The second month of the year often brings unexpected warfare. Why? Because the enemy wants to wear you down before you see the fruit of your labor. The Book of Daniel shows us that principalities resist breakthrough (Daniel 10:12-13). February is a month when demonic forces try to hinder what God has already set in motion.
What does this look like?
- Weariness in well-doing: You start feeling fatigued, spiritually and physically, even though you were strong in January.
- Delays and distractions: Suddenly, things that seemed easy in January start getting complicated. Open doors seem to shut without warning.
- Doubt creeping in: The enemy whispers, Did God really say? Just like he did with Eve in the garden (Genesis 3:1).
- Emotional rollercoasters: You might feel the push and pull of emotions more than usual—one day you’re encouraged, the next day you’re questioning everything.
- Cold love: Jesus warned in Matthew 24:12 that in the last days, because of iniquity, the love of many would grow cold. In February, I often see a lull in passion for prayer, the Word, and even relationships.
Does this sound familiar?
How Should Christians Pray in February?
1. War Against Weariness
Galatians 6:9 tells us, Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. Pray for supernatural strength. Don’t let the enemy steal your energy. Declare:
“I will run and not grow weary, I will walk and not faint! The Lord renews my strength like the eagle’s! (Isaiah 40:31)”
2. Pray Against Delays
The enemy wants to block, hinder, and delay your destiny. Ask God to release His angels to remove obstacles just as He did for Daniel.
“Every demonic delay sent against my life, be shattered in Jesus’ name! I loose divine acceleration over my purpose.”
3. Guard Your Mind from the Whisperer
Don’t let doubt settle in. Cast down every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5).
“I silence every lying spirit sent to plant doubt and confusion. I align my thoughts with the Word of God.”
4. Pray for Divine Focus
February is a month where distractions multiply. Stay locked in.
“I fix my eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith! I will not be distracted, and I will not be delayed!”
5. Stir Up the Fire Again
If you’ve lost momentum in prayer, fasting, or worship, stir it up again. February is not the time to let the fire die out.
“Lord, ignite fresh fire in my spirit! I refuse to let my passion for You grow cold.”
Let’s stand in prayer this month and push back against the opposition. February is not a time to shrink back—it’s a time to dig in. We will not lose ground. We will take ground!
Are you ready? Let’s pray.
