The passing of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025, marks a significant moment not only for the Catholic Church but also within the broader context of end-times prophecy. As the world mourns the loss of the 266th pontiff, prophetic voices are discerning deeper spiritual implications tied to his death.

The Final Assignment: Opening Portals

In the months preceding his death, Pope Francis engaged in unprecedented interfaith initiatives, notably endorsing the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi—a complex housing a mosque, church, and synagogue.

While presented as a gesture of unity, spiritually discerning believers recognized these actions as aligning with a spirit of religious syncretism and potentially paving the way to a One World Religion.

Then there was the move on Christmas Eve 2024 to initiate the 2025 Jubilee Year by opening the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica, a ritual symbolizing a passage to salvation and a call to spiritual renewal. This act was followed by the unprecedented opening of a Holy Door in Rebibbia Prison on December 26, marking the first time such a door was opened in a penal institution.

The sequence continued with the opening of Holy Doors at the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran on December 29, the Basilica of St. Mary Major on January 1, and the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls on January 5. These five openings, while rooted in tradition, have stirred discussions among believers about their deeper prophetic significance.

Some interpret this as a prophetic act that allowed the Queen of Heaven greater access to rage in European nations.  Others see the inclusion of a prison in this sequence as symbolizing the breaking of spiritual barriers and the extension of this new religious unity into all facets of society. Again, paving the way for a One World Religion.

The Queen of Heaven Connection

We cannot talk about the prophetic dimension of Pope Francis’s death without addressing the spiritual entity long connected to Roman Catholicism—the Queen of Heaven.

The Bible speaks plainly about this demonic principality. In Jeremiah 7 and 44, God’s people provoked His wrath by baking cakes to the Queen of Heaven, offering incense, and performing rituals in her honor. The modern counterpart is seen in Marian worship—the exaltation of Mary not just as the mother of Christ, but as a co-redemptrix, a mediatrix, and even a “Queen of Heaven.”

Under Pope Francis, veneration of Mary increased. He frequently invoked her as “our mother,” “our protector,” and “our intercessor.” Millions of Catholics have unknowingly engaged in idolatry under the banner of tradition. But spiritual tradition does not equal truth. The Queen of Heaven is not a motherly spirit—she is a counterfeit. She is a usurper. She is a principality that is rising in this hour to seduce the nations with a false comfort and a false religious system.

The Catholic Church, particularly under this papacy, has deepened its entanglement with this spirit. Her statues weep. Her shrines attract millions. Her apparitions deceive. And in some nations, Mary has been enthroned as the queen and spiritual gatekeeper. This is not harmless tradition—it is end-time idolatry on a global scale.

The Prophecy of St. Malachy: Approaching the End

The “Prophecy of the Popes,” attributed to 12th-century Archbishop St. Malachy, lists 112 short Latin phrases predicting the succession of popes. The final entry speaks of “Peter the Roman,” who will lead the Church through tribulations, culminating in the destruction of Rome and the Last Judgment.

Many interpreters have identified Pope Francis as the 112th pope, suggesting that his successor could be this ominous figure. While the prophecy’s authenticity is debated, its alignment with current events cannot be ignored.

A Religious System Preparing the Way

With Pope Francis’s death, a vacuum opens—not just in the Vatican, but in the end-time religious structure that Revelation 17 describes as “Mystery Babylon, the Mother of Harlots.” This is not just a metaphor for wickedness—it is a prophetic symbol of a global religious system intoxicated with power, compromise, and false worship.

The next pope could carry this system even further into apostasy. The next leader may push more aggressively toward religious unity, digital sacraments, and AI-integrated spirituality. The Church of Rome may be preparing to play its most pivotal role in the final act of history.

What Does This Mean for the Watchmen?

This is not the hour to speculate in fear—it is the hour to pray with precision.

The death of Pope Francis is not the end of a man. It may be the beginning of a new phase in Satan’s strategy to enthrone the counterfeit bride—the harlot church—who rides the beast.

We must:

• Pray for Catholics worldwide to have their eyes opened and their hearts awakened to the truth of Jesus Christ—not religion, not ritual, but relationship with the Risen Lord.
• Break agreement with the Queen of Heaven, who seeks to rule over nations through deception, mixture, and seduction.
• Pray that the next pope will not align more fully with the false prophet spirit, but that God will interrupt the enemy’s plan.
• Pray that the true Church rises with boldness, with fire, with the Spirit of truth—no longer asleep, but watchful and discerning.

Watch. Pray. Discern.

We are watching prophecy unfold in real time. The stage is being set. And while the world mourns a religious icon, the Spirit is sounding an alarm in the hearts of the remnant.
