Walk with me in community in my Ignite Accelerator at www.ignitenow.org.
You did not notice when it started. Maybe you thought it was stress or a hard week. Maybe you thought you just needed more sleep. But something has been squeezing your mind for weeks and you cannot get free of it.
That is not stress. That sounds like a python spirit.
The python spirit coils around you. And every time you take a breath, it tightens.
You Are Not Tired. You Are Under Attack.
Why is prayer suddenly so hard? Why does worship feel mechanical? Why has the clarity you had three months ago disappeared? Why does every decision feel like you are pushing through mud?
I'll tell you one reason why. It could be because something is squeezing your spiritual breath.
Acts 16:16 records a girl in Philippi with a spirit of divination. The Greek is pneuma pythios. That's where we get the word python. Notice how she followed Paul for many days. The python spirit is patient. It does not need to overwhelm you in one moment. It just needs to keep tightening, little by little, until it suffocates you.
When the python wraps around your mind, your prayer life suffocates. Your worship dies on your lips. Your ability to hear God shrinks.
You thought you were dry. You are being constricted.
Stop Coexisting With It
How long have you been managing this? How long have you been adjusting your life around the pressure instead of breaking the pressure? How long have you been talking yourself into believing this is just who you are now?
It is not who you are. It is what is on you.
The python spirit only has one weapon. It cannot strike you. It cannot poison you. It can only squeeze you. And the moment you break the coil, it has nothing left.
How do you break the coil? With the words of your mouth.
Open Your Mouth
Paul did not study the python spirit. He did not pray about whether to confront it. He did not journal about it for a week. He turned around and spoke to it (Acts 16:18). And it left immediately.
That is your spiritual warfare model.
You have been quiet long enough. You have been polite with this thing long enough. You have been treating a serpent like a season.
Open your mouth. Take authority. Name it. Command it to loose your mind, your prayer life, your worship and your spiritual breath. Tell it to go in the name of Jesus.
You are not low capacity. You are not burned out. You are not in a dry season.
It's a python attack. Let's break it.
