You may not even realize you're bound. That's what makes witchcraft soul ties so dangerous. They operate in the unseen realm. They attach to your soul without your conscious permission. And they wreak havoc on your mind, your emotions and your spiritual life.
What Is a Witchcraft Soul Tie?
Most believers understand godly soul ties. Think of David and Jonathan. First Samuel 18:1 tells us "the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul." That Hebrew word for "knit" is qashar. It means to bind, to tie, to conspire. God designed soul ties for covenant relationships. But the enemy perverts everything God creates.
A witchcraft soul tie is an ungodly spiritual connection forged through manipulation, control, domination or occult activity. It's a demonic counterfeit of covenant. Someone operating in a spirit of witchcraft can establish a soul tie with you through emotional manipulation, intimidation, sexual sin or direct occult practices. And once that tie is established, it becomes a pipeline for spiritual pollution to flow directly into your soul.
How Witchcraft Soul Ties Form
You don't have to visit a witch doctor to pick up a witchcraft soul tie. Let's be clear about that. These ties can form through relationships with controlling, manipulative people who operate in what the Bible calls rebellion. First Samuel 15:23 says "rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft." That means anyone operating in deep rebellion and control toward you is functioning in a witchcraft anointing. Whether they know it or not.
Witchcraft soul ties also form through sexual immorality. Paul warned in 1 Corinthians 6:16 that anyone who joins with another becomes "one body" with them. The Greek word kollao means to glue together, to cement. Sexual encounters outside of God's covenant design create ungodly bonds that give the enemy legal access to your soul. Past relationships you thought were over may still have a spiritual grip on your life.
Involvement in the occult is another open door. Consulting psychics, practicing divination, participating in New Age rituals or even entertaining occult entertainment can forge soul ties with demonic entities and the people attached to those practices.
The Signs Are Unmistakable
How do you know if you have a witchcraft soul tie? You can't stop thinking about a particular person even though the relationship is over. You feel controlled or manipulated by someone even from a distance. You experience sudden emotional shifts, confusion or spiritual oppression tied to a specific individual. You dream about people from your past repeatedly. You feel spiritually paralyzed or stuck and you can't break free no matter how hard you try.
Freedom Is Your Inheritance
Here's the good news. Jesus already purchased your freedom. Galatians 5:1 declares "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage" (NKJV). That word "entangled" in the Greek is enecho. It means to be held in, to be subject to. You do not have to remain held in the grip of a witchcraft soul tie. The power of the Cross is greater than any demonic bond the enemy has tried to fasten to your life.
It's time to get free. It's time to break every chain. It's time to sever every ungodly connection. Right now.
