Leviathan is not a metaphor. It is not merely a mindset. Scripture reveals Leviathan as a real, high-ranking demonic power that works to distort communication, stir pride, sow division, and choke the life out of God-ordained relationships, movements, and assignments.
If you want to crush Leviathan’s witchcraft, you must first understand who and what you are dealing with.
Who Is Leviathan?
Leviathan is a twisting, serpentine spirit mentioned multiple times in Scripture. Job 41 gives one of the most detailed descriptions, revealing a creature that cannot be easily subdued by human strength. Isaiah 27:1 speaks of Leviathan as a fleeing serpent and a twisting serpent, showing its evasive and manipulative nature. Psalm 74:14 reveals that God Himself crushes the heads of Leviathan, establishing divine authority over this spirit.
Leviathan operates at a high level in the demonic hierarchy. It is often associated with pride, especially spiritual pride, and with perverting truth through half-truths, miscommunication, and offense. Leviathan does not always come head-on. It coils around situations, tightening pressure until clarity, unity, and peace are strangled.
This spirit thrives in environments where communication breaks down, where misunderstandings multiply, and where people become entrenched in their own perspectives rather than submitting to the Spirit of God.
Why Leviathan Is So Dangerous
Leviathan is dangerous because it is subtle and strategic. Many believers do not recognize its operation until damage has already been done. This spirit rarely attacks openly at first. Instead, it whispers, twists words, fuels assumptions, and magnifies offenses.
One of Leviathan’s primary goals is division. It seeks to fracture families, churches, leadership teams, and prayer movements. It works closely with religious spirits, Jezebel influences, and prideful mindsets to create chaos under the guise of righteousness.
Leviathan also targets prophetic voices, intercessors, and leaders. It resists God-ordained authority and works to undermine trust. Where Leviathan operates unchecked, unity erodes, suspicion grows, and people begin talking past one another instead of hearing one another.
Another danger of Leviathan is its connection to confusion. Confusion weakens spiritual authority. When believers are confused, they hesitate. When they hesitate, they stop advancing. Leviathan thrives in that stalled space.
This is why Scripture makes it clear that only the Lord can fully crush Leviathan. Human wisdom, emotional reasoning, and fleshly reactions will not defeat this spirit. Discernment and spiritual authority are required.
Signs of Leviathan’s Witchcraft
Leviathan’s witchcraft leaves a trail. If you know what to look for, the signs become unmistakable.
One sign is chronic misunderstanding. Conversations seem clear, yet people walk away with completely different interpretations. Words are taken out of context, intentions are questioned, and clarification feels impossible.
Another sign is escalating offense. Small issues become major conflicts. Minor corrections are perceived as personal attacks. Offense is rehearsed rather than released, and bitterness quietly takes root.
Pride is another hallmark. Leviathan feeds on an unteachable spirit. People become rigid, defensive, and unwilling to humble themselves. Apologies disappear. Repentance feels unnecessary. Self-justification replaces self-examination.
You may also see relational strangulation. Relationships that once flowed with grace now feel tense and constricted. Communication feels heavy. Trust erodes. Unity feels forced instead of Spirit-led.
Leviathan’s witchcraft often shows up alongside gossip disguised as concern. Conversations begin with “I’m just trying to help” or “I’m discerning something,” but the fruit is division, suspicion, and alignment against leadership or authority.
Finally, there is a sense of spiritual suffocation. Prayer becomes harder. Clarity diminishes. Discernment feels clouded. This is not coincidence. Leviathan constricts spiritual breath and tries to silence prophetic flow.
Crushing Leviathan’s witchcraft begins with recognizing its operation. Discernment exposes what the enemy wants to keep hidden. Once exposed, this spirit loses its grip.
God has already declared His victory over Leviathan. Our role is to see clearly, stand humbly, and refuse to partner with pride, offense, or confusion. When truth is embraced and humility is restored, Leviathan’s coils begin to loosen.
