Have you ever felt something slithering through your life, silently constricting your peace, strangling your progress, or injecting fear into your faith? You may not see it in the natural, but spiritually, the serpent spirit is real. It hides in the grass of compromise, deception, and intimidation. It lurks behind manipulation, false accusations, and cycles of defeat.
You don’t have to fear. Jesus gave you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).
Recognizing the Serpent’s Work
From the very beginning, the serpent sought to twist God’s Word and undermine His people. The enemy still uses those same tactics today. He whispers lies about your identity, tempts you with shortcuts, and sends counterfeit voices to entangle you in confusion.
Serpents slither into finances through hidden greed or fear of lack. They strike relationships through jealousy or control. They coil around your calling through intimidation and self-doubt. But once you discern the serpent’s movement, you can crush its head with prayer rooted in truth and authority.
The Weapon of a Serpent-Crushing Prayer
When Jesus said, “You will trample on serpents,” He didn’t mean you’d live in fear of them—He meant you’d walk in dominion over them. Prayer is your crushing weapon. Not passive prayer, but warfare prayer. The kind that rises from a revelation of your covenant with God.
In Numbers 21, fiery serpents attacked the Israelites because of their rebellion. Yet when Moses lifted up the bronze serpent on the pole—a prophetic symbol of Christ on the cross—the people who looked upon it were healed. In other words, victory over the serpent always points back to Jesus. When you align your prayer with the finished work of the cross, the serpent’s fangs lose their venom.
How to Pray to Crush Every Serpent
Start with Praise
Lift up the name of Jesus, who crushed the serpent’s head at Calvary. Praise disarms the enemy before a single command is spoken. “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57)
Repent of Agreement
If you’ve tolerated the serpent, believing lies, entertaining fear, or yielding to temptation, renounce those open doors. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
Release the Word
Speak Scripture like a sword. Declare Luke 10:19, Isaiah 27:1, and Romans 16:20 until your spirit roars with faith. “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” (Romans 16:20).
Command Deliverance
In the name of Jesus, command every serpent spirit—every constricting, deceiving, or venomous force—to release you now. Speak to it directly: “Serpent, your power is broken. I crush your head with the authority of Christ.
Seal with the Blood
Apply the blood of Jesus over your mind, your home, your relationships, and your destiny. Serpents cannot cross the bloodline.
Prophetic Prayer Declaration
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for the victory of the cross. Every serpent assigned to deceive, constrict, or devour me is exposed and crushed under my feet. I wield the sword of the Spirit and cut off every head of the enemy. I break free from deception, fear, and intimidation. I rise in the power of Your Spirit and tread upon serpents and scorpions with boldness. Let Your peace—the crushing peace of Christ—reign in my heart, my house, and my destiny. Amen.
God’s Promise to You
Don’t forget this truth: you don’t crush serpents in your own strength. The Spirit of the living God within you does. As Isaiah 27:1 declares, “The Lord with His severe sword, great and strong, will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent.” You simply enforce the victory that’s already been won.
So stand tall today. Don’t run from the serpent—step on it. Don’t fear its hiss—silence it with your praise. And remember: every time you pray in faith, another serpent is crushed beneath your feet.
