The transition wasn’t easy. Transitions usually aren’t. This however, cannot be done without God. I was completely embedded in the thick of the world. Meaning, my thoughts, my actions and my words were stemming from years of worldly imprinting. Whatever the world says is beautiful, smart, funny, popular, desirable, important, trendy… that’s what I thought. Hollywood indoctrinated my dating beliefs, and music usually reinforced whatever “mood” I was in.

If you are not familiar with Christian lingo, you are probably wondering what I’m on about. Why, of course! Isn’t this all normal? NOOOOO. It is not. Somewhere along the line we as a society have begun to flow downstream. Allowing the masses to program our thinking. The masses are NOT always right. The way we think is directly connected to the way we speak, behave and believe. Which completely shapes our existence in this world.

Futures are made or broken with one word. I had to “unplug” from the world long enough to begin to hear, and trust that still small voice within me. I had to begin to reload my mind with different content. The Bible. God’s Word. This process was not perfect, and it took time. I am still a work in progress. However, the truth is I am a new creature.

I am not who I was and I am confident He will complete His work in me. I have been reborn. This time inheriting an incorruptible seed which lives within me. He will never leave me, or forsake me. He is my healer, my redeemer, my source of love and life eternal. He took what was broken, what was dark, what was ugly, and made it beautiful. Every crack, pieced back together in crimson grace.

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13-14)
