Catriona Gray from the Philippines successfully brought home the Miss Universe title this past December 17, 2018 at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. She is the newly crowned Miss Universe 2018 beating out 94 other uniquely inspiring women from different nations who competed in the prestigious event. The world has seen her beauty, intelligence, and confidence, however, unbeknownst to millions of people, she is also a woman who truly loves God.
Catriona is not your ordinary woman. She is a daughter of the Living God! In a recent interview she was asked, “Name one thing you cannot live without.”
Catriona sincerely and honestly answered, “I wanna say, God,” with a grateful look on her face.
“You know because when everything else leaves you, when you don’t have your career, if your family somehow leaves you, or you’re left behind by your friends, God will never leave you.”
“I’m not to push my belief on anyone but this is my personal opinion. My faith has gotten me through so much and I feel like I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without God,” she boldly added.
Catriona is so much more than just a woman who won the Miss Universe crown. She may be wearing one of the most coveted crowns, but she knows well the eternal crown that will matter most in the end—the Crown of Life.
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:12)
Still, God positioned Catriona in the world’s spotlight for such a time as this to bring glory to His Name.
“Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)
