We are made for worship! True worship. From the beginning, the enemy has worked to pollute pure worship with idolatry, and his tactics really haven't changed much, have they? Satan knows that if our hearts are divided then we will be powerless, fruitless, and vulnerable to his kill shot. But that is not your destiny, my friend! So, today let's expose demonic craftiness and gain more victory for life!

How to Break Demonic Powers Off of Your Soul

There is a really great example of how we throw off the enemy's grip in the Old Testament story of King Hezekiah. In 2 Chronicles 32, Assyria was after God's people's money. Listen, money is one of the biggest idols in this world.

“He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves abundance with its gain. This too is vanity (emptiness).” (Ecclesiastes 5:10 AMP)

Guess what! Money idols drive you to spend your money on them! This is how the enemy robs people blind, effectively doing what demons always do—stealing, killing, and destroying your life. “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]” (John 10:10 AMP).

No Satisfaction

Hezekiah had already given his personal money and God's money (from the temple) to appease the Assyrians…but they still wanted more. This is the nature of idols! They always want more, more, more, more. When we have idols in our hearts (souls), we can never find satisfaction, can we? We crave the next new thing (iPhone, car, trinket, romance). We want more pleasure, more comfort, more fame, more, more, more. It's a bottomless pit, isn't it? It promises so much, but delivers only more emptiness to our souls. What liars idols are!

“…there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar and the father of lies and half-truths.” (John 8:44 AMP)

“Let them no longer fool themselves by trusting in empty riches, for emptiness will be their only reward.” (Job 15:31 NLT)

Satisfaction Guaranteed!

God delivered Hezekiah from the hand of the Assyrians. In the end, Hezekiah had health and great, abundant wealth and blessing. What was his key to victory? How did he get this cosmic level of blessing? The answer is found in the preceding chapter—He cleansed Jerusalem of all the idols! Take a look:

“Now when all of this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah, and smashed the [pagan] pillars (obelisks, memorial stones) in pieces, cut down the Asherim (wooden symbols of a female deity), and tore down the high places and the altars [of idolatry] throughout all Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the sons (descendants) of Israel returned to their own cities, each to his own property.” (2 Chronicles 31:1 AMP)

They removed the idols and effectively removed the legal right the enemy had to steal from them and keep them tormented. Great boldness and confidence filled Hezekiah and His people because of their right-standing with God:

“‘Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria, nor because of all the army that is with him; for the One with us is greater than the one with him. With him there is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.' And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.” (2 Chronicles 32:7-8 AMP)

Great blessing and true prosperity were poured upon them from the Lord:

“And many brought gifts to the LORD at Jerusalem and valuable presents to Hezekiah king of Judah; so from then on he was exalted in the sight of all nations.” (2 Chronicles 32:23 AMP)

Remember this: All the power of Heaven is ready to back up your walk of faith, love and obedience to God! Grace and mercy will meet your impossibilities and do the impossible in your life when you choose to remove the idols from your heart.

“All who worship worthless idols turn from the God who offers them mercy.” (Jonah 2:8 CEV)

Pick Up Your Victory Keys!

Hezekiah's story teaches us powerful Victory Keys. When we remove idols:

• True worship is restored.
• Satan's grip is broken.
• The blessings of healing and prosperity flow freely.

In short, victory moves from being a “hope so, someday” dream to a REALITY. Oh, my friend, you are destined for great victories! I see you moving up higher with the Lord. As you let go of every worthless thing, great and mighty things will open up before you. Keep moving onward and upward in Jesus!

I'm praying for your breakthrough and your blessing!
