By now you’ve heard President Trump ordered a U.S. airstrike near Baghdad’s airport that killed General Qassem Soleimani. He is widely recognized as the mastermind of Iran’s evil works across the Middle East.
The Associated Press reports he became an icon by targeting the U.S. Indeed, he has the blood of many Americans on his hands.
“We take comfort in knowing that his reign of terror is over,” Trump said of Soleimani. Due to potential retaliation, the U.S. is sending nearly 3,000 more troops to the Middle East.
You can be sure there will be retaliation. The AP reports Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed “harsh retaliation” after the airstrike, calling Soleimani the “international face of resistance.”
Iran just lifted a red flag on top of an Iranian mosque to signal it's ready to go to war.
I heard the Lord say:
Do not lose heart in the face of what appears to be an international nuclear escalation in plain view. For Iran is a goat nation and I will not allow the goat to nip at your heels.
I am calling for My intercessors to rise up and pray to push back the darkness in the spirit before it mushrooms in the natural realm. My angels will pick up the decrees from your prayers and use them as weapons of My will to battle the Prince of Persia and demon forces bent on bringing destruction to the Middle East and beyond.
Do not fear and do not worry. Do not let your hearts be troubled. You cannot pray in faith while worrying in fear. Rise up now and pray that the war in the heaven would rage against the raging dictators in the earth who are speaking against Me and working to thwart My purposes.
My purposes will not be thwarted. My will shall be done and My kingdom shall come to the earth, and sooner than many people think. I am asking you to lift up your voices and pray in the face of the wars and rumors of wars. For the time is not yet for the escalation the enemy has planned.
Take authority now with your voice. Open your lips and cry aloud by the power of My spirit. Release your decrees and give ammunition to the angel armies. Take a stand and fight for what is right in the Spirit. I will move speedily to shut down the work of the enemy that has some men’s hearts failing them because of fear. You do your part and I will do my part. Pray.
Indeed, many are afraid of the retaliation. Although Iran does not have nuclear weapons, it's ally Russia does. Russian has condemned Trump's order to kill the Iranian general.

Oil prices have gone up due to fear of Iranian retaliation against the U.S. There’s talk of cyber retaliation on top of it all. The stock market fell on fear of Iranian retaliation.
If we pray, we can squash this in the spirit before it escalates in the natural. It’s up to the intercessors to shut this down. Here are some prayer points:
1. Pray that God would give President Trump, his cabinet and military leaders wisdom in dealing with next steps in this conflict.
2. Pray according to Isaiah 54:17, that no weapon formed against the U.S. would prosper.
3. Pray to bind the retaliation.
4. Pray that Iran’s schemes would come up empty, according to Psalm 2:1.
5. Pray that God would send confusion into the enemy’s camp.
6. Pray that the church in Iran would stay steady under the persecution that the enemy is planning to amp up.
7. Pray that God would send angel armies to war with the Prince of Persia and other demonic forces.
8. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
9. Pray against the fear that would cause disruption in our economy.
10. Pray against an escalation of war and violence that is not in the timing of God.
