One of France’s most historic and famous houses of worship burned on Monday. The devastating fire in the France’s capital made headlines around the world. Thankfully, the cathedral’s iconic twin bell towers are visibly intact, according to USA Today, but the horrible sight of the spire collapsing caused people in nations across the globe to gasp. A communications worker named Philippe told Channel News Asia, “Paris is disfigured. The city will never be like it was before.” And Stephane Seigneurie told the news service, “"Politically, intellectually and spiritually, it's a symbol of France… We have to pray.”
