Presbyterian Minister Doesn’t Believe in God Yet Defends His Christianity

Presbyterian Minister Doesn’t Believe in God Yet Defends His Christianity

John Shuck is a Presbyterian minister—but he doesn't believe in God and has the audacity to declare that “Jesus may have been an historical figure, but most of what we know about Him is in the form of legend” and “God is a symbol of myth-making and not credible as a supernatural being or force” and “the Bible is a human product as opposed to special revelation from a divine being” and “human consciousness is the result of natural selection, so there's no afterlife.”

So, basically, this Presbyterian minister is an atheist. In fact, he made these declarations on The Friendly Atheist's blog. Despite these beliefs he still describes himself as a “proud minister” and says he doesn't appreciate “being told I'm not truly a Christian.”

Go ahead, read that again. Actually, I'll summarize it for you: Shuck essentially denies the divinity of Christ, characterizes the Father as a myth-maker, repudiates the veracity of the Bible, denies any existence of an afterlife and gets offended when people suggest that maybe he needs to reclassify his faith—or lack thereof? Yes, that about sums it up. About the only thing he didn't do was directly blaspheme the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual Warfare Technologies That Take Down Strongholds

Spiritual Warfare Technologies That Take Down Strongholds

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (see 2 Cor. 10:4). God has given us mighty weapons to pull down strongholds over our lives, but sometimes we need new technologies for the battle.

Indeed, the Holy Spirit revealed to me there are spiritual warfare technologies we need to tap into in this new season. This revelation was unlocked to me while I was on an intercessory prayer call for the “New Weapons for a New Season” conference at City Gate Atlanta next month.

While Clay Nash, founding apostle of The CityGate in Southaven, Mississippi, was sharing revelation about the new weapons, the Holy Spirit started talking to me about spiritual warfare technologies. That didn't make much sense to my natural mind as I associate technologies with my computer, my iPhone or my Kindle e-book reader, but it makes strategic sense after I searched it out.

Unpatriotic? This Viral Photo Is Stirring a National Debate

Unpatriotic? This Viral Photo Is Stirring a National Debate

What's so offensive about a sailor holding a baby cradled in an American flag? I'm not sure, but it's causing gnashing of teeth among some red-blooded Americans.

Vanessa Hicks shot the photo of Baby Landon, who was eight days old when she snapped various images of the newborn with his mother and with the American flag. But the image of his father, a member of the U.S. Navy, suspending the baby in an American flag has caused critics of an especially vile nature to attack Hicks.

“It was in their opinion I had disrespected our nation's flag. I had disrespected our country by taking this picture. Several of these people not only bashed the picture, but me, saying I should be ashamed of myself, my husband should be ashamed, etc. and I received several private messages to my business page,” Hicks, who is married to a sailor, wrote on Facebook. “They even took it a step farther and bashed the service member in the picture, hoping he gets in trouble for participating in desecration of the flag.”

A Season of Spiritual Warfare: Jezebel’s Witchcrafts Rising

A Season of Spiritual Warfare: Jezebel’s Witchcrafts Rising

When I wrote The Spiritual Warrior's Guide to Defeating Jezebel in 2012, I got sick six separate times. I literally didn't completely heal from one infirmity before another one manifested—and I had several out-of-the-blue migraines in the middle of it all.

Given that I rarely get sick, eat organic foods, exercise at least five days a week, sleep plenty, drink lots of water, pray for divine health and otherwise lead a healthy lifestyle, it was abundantly clear that this spurt of various ailments was a spiritual attack. The enemy didn't want me exposing the works of Jezebel and released spiritual witchcraft against me.

The Bible talks about Jezebel and her witchcrafts in 2 Kings 9:22. I believe infirmities are part of Jezebel's witchcrafts. Witchcraft is a spiritual force that the enemy uses to attack us. I don't know if this qualifies as a “fiery arrow of the evil one” that Paul describes in Ephesians 6, but I do know that we're in a spiritual war and it heightens this time of year. The question is, why?
