Why Some Would-Be Life-Changing Prophetic Words Don't Come to Pass
Prophetic words bring warfare, but that's not the only reason people receive legitimate would-be life-changing prophecies that don't come to pass. Although I believe strongly in waging war with prophetic words, you also have to be careful to understand what the Lord is actually saying to war accurately.
Beyond this, you need a certain maturity to walk out the word by faith. You need the spiritual strength to stand against the tribulation and persecution that will surely come against a potentially life-changing prophecy. And you need to keep your mind focused on God's plans despite the barrage of cares and worries the devil brings to your mind.
At the end of the day, it really does boil down to this: There is a war over the prophetic word over your life. Sometimes that war comes from the wicked one. Sometimes that war comes from our own carnal nature that wars against the Spirit (Gal. 5:17). Either way—and whether in Scripture or via prophecy judged accurate—we must fight the good fight of faith so we can walk in the fullness of God's promises.
Prophecy: The Ravens Are Coming to Bless You
Get ready for the ravens (opportunists) to fund your vision and personal prophecy. (By Hakeem Collins) The Word of the Lord came to me saying that there are those that have been a dry season. Looking for the provision of the Lord. There are looking for the promises of...
A Deadly Deception Emerging in the Prophetic Movement
The church needs prophets who can rightly discern the moving of the Lord—and the moving of the enemy. We need prophets who will stand in the gap and make up the hedge so the enemy cannot infiltrate.
Anyone with a sensitive spirit can pick up on the rising level of spiritual warfare in this hour. Just look at the attacks on major cities in our nation. Just look at the persecution of Christians. Just look at the number of church leaders who have fallen. Just look at how many churches are closing. Just look. Clearly, darkness is raging against the church.
Spiritual warfare is real, despite some who insist we don't have to fight because the devil is already defeated. Spiritual warfare is biblical, despite those who argue we should ignore the operations of the devil. Spiritual warfare is necessary because principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, spiritual hosts of wickedness (Eph. 6:12) and other forces are raging against all those who call Christ Lord.
You Won't Believe the Pitch I Got From One False Prophet
When Jesus said false prophets would rise in the last days, He wasn't exaggerating. We're certainly in a season of accelerated false prophet activity.
Check out this message I received:
I've made a mistake. In this season of transition, there have been piles of bills, problematic equations and mountains of new financial challenges that seemed poised to try to overtake me. At times it has overwhelmed me, but never has it interfered with me going before the Lord with your situation(s). This morning, as I was in my prayer chambers meditating on the Word of the Lord for you and countless others, the Lord screamed a mighty scream in the form of a strong wind blowing from the north and commanded me to look up from which cometh my help.
Lester Sumrall's 7 Troubling Prophecies Over America
Lester Sumrall went home to be with the Lord in 1996, but his legacy continues—and his God-breathed prophetic words are still alive.
In a 1987 video capture, Sumrall, whose spiritual father was Smith Wigglesworth, shares seven prophetic insights God revealed to his heart earlier in his walk with the Lord. I wish they weren't accurate, but it seems he heard rightly. You can watch the video to see all the warnings. I'm going to focus on just one of them.
“I said, 'God, I don't understand this at all.' He said, 'You're going to see it and here are seven things to watch.' And God gave me seven things to observe. Number one was, America will depart from its historic faith. Now at that time, the Supreme Court hadn't done any of those strange things, such as permission to kill unborn babies and giving such rights to homosexuals. See, none of that happened.”
A Dream and a Rhema Word From Isaiah 54:1-5
It's Time to Break Out! (By Kim Potter) The Lord gave me a dream recently that I have pondered in my heart for days now. In the dream the Lord had me expand my dining room area. I literally had to push out walls and move things around to make my dining room large...
Why You Shouldn't Feel Sorry for Jezebel
If you feel sorry for Jezebel, she'll not only pull on your heart strings, but she'll play you like the proverbial fiddle. This master manipulator will seduce you into her web of witchcraft using your own compassion as bait.
Remember my sixth point in 15 Ways to Discern Jezebel in Your Midst: “People influenced by a Jezebel spirit play the victim. They want your pity.” The reason this seducing spirit wants your sympathy is strategic: Pity opens the door for this devil. Soulish compassion blocks discernment—but that's no excuse for tolerating Jezebel. In fact, if you tolerate a Jezebel spirit, Jesus has something against you.
In Revelation 2:20, Jesus declared, “But I have a few things against you: You permit that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat food sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, but she did not repent.” I talk more about this in my book, Jezebel's Puppets.
Why You Shouldn't be a Pushy Prophet
Have you ever received a prophetic word that you absolutely, 100 percent, clearly no-doubt-about-it knew was from the Lord—only to have the one you share it with forcibly reject it?
If you've been operating in spiritual gifts for any length of time, the answer is likely yes. What you do next will reveal your maturity in the prophetic and how much the Holy Spirit can trust you to rightly exercise the His gifts.
And remember, they are His gifts and He distributes them individually as He wills (1 Cor. 12:11). If you consistently misuse a spiritual gift or bring others harm when you exercise prophecy, the Holy Spirit may stop talking to you about other people until you learn how to steward the gift responsibly.
A Prayer Strategy for the Year of the Wind

A Season of Prophetic Famine
God is speaking out of Amos 8, but can the church hear? By Dr. Naim Collins "Behold the days are coming, declares the Lord GOD, when I will SEND a FAMINE on the land, not a famine of BREAD, nor a thirst for WATER, but of HEARING THE WORDS OF THE LORD...they shall run...

Prophesying a Rain of Glory in the Midst of Enemy Attacks
(By Hakeem Collins) The Word of the Lord came to me on Memorial Day weekend while I was in my hotel room preparing for a prophetic encounter service on Sunday morning. As I was wrestling in my bed the Lord wanted to speak to me. He told that many of His people have...
Prophecy: Look for the Numbers 777 in This Season
(By Johnny Enlow) I have been having a repeat vision of the Father standing up from His throne in an enraged state. The scripture with it every time is Psalm 78:65,66. "Then the Lord awoke as one out of sleep, And like a mighty man who shouts because of wine. And He...
When Believers Can't Tell the Difference Between Prophets and Psychics
Prophets and psychics can both make accurate predictions. Accuracy is not the only test of a true prophet. Test the spirit behind the word because there are many false prophets making true predictions (1 John 4:1).
I posted that on my Facebook page last week, and it stirred up a hornet's nest I never would have expected. I thought I'd get a few thousand hearty “amens,” open the eyes of some people who had not thought to judge prophecy in this crucial hour and stir up a few devils. As it turned out, it stirred up more than a few devils who seem to enjoy swimming in impure prophetic pools.
Several people asked me to give Scripture to back up the comment. Of course, the Scripture was listed in the comment. In 1 John 4:1, John the apostle clearly states by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
God Is Pouring Out Prophetic Visions in This Season
In this hour of Christianity, God is looking for those who will stand watch, station themselves on the watchtower and keep watch to see what the Lord will say—and answer when they are reproved.
God is looking for those with a Habakkuk spirit who will not only see and hear, but record and proclaim—and keep proclaiming until the people's ears and eyes open to what the Lord is saying and doing. Once, when Habakkuk stood on the wall, He heard the Lord say this:
“Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but it speaks of an end and does not lie. If it delays, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay” (Hab. 2:2-3).
When You Get Rebuked for Sharing a True Prophecy
I've heard plenty of flaky dreams and visions in my day. In fact, not a week goes by when some friend—or absolute, complete stranger—doesn't send me an unsolicited message about a prophetic dream, vision or word they have for or about me. Honestly, it's somewhat bizarre that so many people are dreaming about me.
Anyway, some of these dreams are extremely accurate and especially helpful. Others are so far off the mark that you have to wonder what they ate before they went to bed (read: pizza dreams), yet the prophecy is relatively harmless. Still others are clearly inspired by a spirit other than the Holy Spirit.
I have to admit, there are times when I wanted to do more than break a word curse—I wanted to issue a rebuke. Up until now, though, I've held my pen and tongue except to teach prophetic protocols. You can read more in my book, The Making of a Prophet.
